J. P. McCully
J. P. (Uncle Prossie) McCully, 80, Rt. 10, Moreland Dr., died at 10 p.m. Wednesday in Holston Valley Community Hospital following a brief illness. At the time of his death, McCully lived on the farm where he was born and spent his life. He was a retiree of Bays Mountain Construction Company and attended the Pactolus United Methodist Church.
McCully is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Witt McCully of the home; two daughters , Mrs. Earnest (Hattie Kate) Bragg of Kingsport and Mrs. Homer (Ollivine) Isaacs of Castlewood, Va.; two sons, Lloyd R. McCully and Howard Cordell McCully both of Kingsport; six grandchildren.
Hamlette-Dobson Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

DANIEL N. PETERMAN D.S. PETERMAN AND CO. PRESIDENT
YORK - Daniel N. Peterman, 83, of York, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane "Janie" (Jones) Peterman.
The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 25 W. Springettsbury Ave., York. Entombment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Mr. Peterman was born May 6, 1917, in York. He was the son of the late Claude L. and Katharine (Neff) Peterman.
He was associated with D.S. Peterman and Company Inc. since 1939 and served as its president since 1971. He was a member and former treasurer of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a member of The Country Club of York, Historical Society of York County and York Agricultural Society. He was a life member of Two/Ten Foundation Inc. and York Rotary Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a charter member of Association of Footwear Distributors and served on the Board of Directors for Mellon Bank of York. He was a graduate of University of North Carolina, York Collegiate Institute and York High School.
Mr. Peterman is survived by two sons, Charles N. Peterman of Red Lion and Daniel N. Peterman Jr. of Dallastown; three grandchildren; a sister, Mollie Pedrick of York; and nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. John J. Wenzke, and the Rev. Joseph W. Seitz, a retired pastor.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 25 W. Springettsbury Ave., York 17403; or to Historical Society of York County, 250 E. Market St., York 17403.
