Billie Alexander Macha Martin was born on May 22, 1916, in Bartlett, Texas to Alex and Willie Conklin Macha. She moved to Lubbock, Texas, in 1928, with her Mother where she attended high school and met her future husband, Martin Howard Martin.
After graduation in 1933, Billie and Martin married on September 18, and had a loving relationship for the next 74 and half years. On August 12, 1934, their first daughter, Sandra Kathleen, was born. On October 31, 1936, their second daughter, Carol Ann, was born.
After her children were grown, Billie participated in many activities. She played bridge and belonged to a number of bridge clubs. She was also a member of the AV Chapter of P.E.O. One of her favorite activities revolved around her beloved poodles, Bitsy and Koko. Beginning in 1959 and continuing for the next 22 years, she trained, attended shows and won many trophies with her dogs in obedience trials. Billie and Martin were long term members of the First Baptist Church. They had a wide circle of friends with whom they attended ballroom dances, traveled and participated in other activities. In 1974, she and Martin, began traveling. They went to many countries with their most memorable trip being a month spent in Africa.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mrs. Mozelle Dubusker; her son-in-law, George W. Appleby; her son-in-law, Richard W. Smith, Jr.; and great grandson, Justin Payne Smith.
She is survived by a large loving family consisting of: her beloved husband, Martin, her two daughters, five grandchildren, Mark (Jennifer) Gutzman, Stasia (Brad) Denham, Vicky Hall, Michael Smith and Craig (Donita) Smith, nine great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren expected this year.
Billie loved the Lord, her family, her friends and lived an eventful and fulfilling life. She will be missed by all.
A service was held at Seaside Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 followed by a graveside service. A reception followed the graveside service at the First Baptist Church.

George William Appleby, 78, of Sam Rayburn, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A native of Akron, Ohio, had been a resident of Sam Rayburn for many years and was a Production Control Manager for Cubic Corporation in San Diego, California.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Appleby; two brothers, Robert and Paul Appleby; and one sister, Jean Appleby.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Appleby of Sam Rayburn; sons, Bill Appleby and wife Chie of Hemet, California, and Mark Gutzman and wife Jennifer of Pollack, Louisiana; daughters, Beth Lucas and husband Jeff of Akron, Ohio, Stasia Denham and husband Brad of Memphis, Tennessee, and Vicky Hall of Derby, Kansas; sister, Marion Straka of Florida; twelve grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Lake Rayburn United Methodist Church, Sam Rayburn.

Adah Larimore, wife of William G. Larimore, of Union Station, died at the Newark hospital Tuesday night at 10 o'clock.
She was born in Marion, Ohio, January 27, 1876, being the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark and Martha Dix. She was married to Mr. Larimore April 29, 1903 and they are the parents of six children, Clark, Bryan, Marshall, Florence, Edward and Martha, who with the father are left to mourn her loss. She is also survived by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held at her late home in Union Station last night at 7:30 o'clock, Rev. Mellinger officiating. The remains were shipped to Marion this morning where burial will take place.

Larimore – Mrs. Richard C. Larimore of 1301 east Fifth avenue, died Friday morning at four o'clock. Mrs. Larimore had been an invalid for several years and since the death of her sister Mrs. C.W. Fraser on February 21, 1922 she has grown worse.
Mrs. Larimore was a lovely woman loved by a host of friends. She was a devoted wife and mother and lived a beautiful Christian life.
Ann Frakes was born in Dekalb county, Missouri, December 21, 1922 aged 51 years 4 months and 19 days.
She was married to Richard C. Larimore September 13, 1898, at Las Vegas, New Mexico and to this union were born two daughters, Lucile and Hope. Lucile met a tragic death in February 1910 when her clothing caught fire from a bonfire and burned her so that death resulted a few hours later. It was a severe blow to the mother and her grief for the daughter was never assuaged.
She leaves besides the husband, who is chief clerk for the Santa Fe, and daughter Hope, her father N.T. Frakes of Atlanta, four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Hugh Hufford and Gaines Frakes of Grand Junction, Colorado, R.G. Frakes of Denver, Colorado; Charles and Mary Frakes of Latham, Mrs. Will Ellett of Towanda, and Mrs. Art Bing of Winfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Larimore came to Winfield in 1906 from Las Vegas, New Mexico, and have resided here ever since.
The funeral will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at four o'clock.
