Laura E. "Dolly" Fuller, was born June 11, 1903, at Wamego, Kansas and passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 1987 at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center. She was adopted at the age of three months by Samuel and Julia Martin, and had lived in Minneapolis most of her life. She was one to attempt and succeed. She learned to fly aircraft when she was in her 40's, attended beauty school in her 50's, and operated Dolly's Beauty Shop for many years. She also worked as a nurse's aide. She learned Braille in later years after becoming blind. Dolly attended the First Baptist Church in Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her first husband Fred Bussart in 1928, and by her second husband Ralph Fuller in 1977. Survivors include her four daughters, Julia Rodewald and her husband Gene of Sedalia, MO; June Hardin of Oklahoma City, Dolores Walborn and husband Jim of Hutchinson and Betty Morse and husband Cliff of Omaha, NB; 12 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were one daughter "Cookie" Fuller, brother Charles Johnson and sister Thelma Cook. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 16, 1987, 10:30 a.m. at the Shields Funeral Home with Rev. Vern Finley officiating. Organist was Mrs. Bill Hemenway. Casket bearers were Pat Morse, Stacey Hardin, Jim Walborn, Scott Diemer, Gary getz and Cliff Morse. Interment was in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Note: Laura Johnson-Martin was adopted by Samuel and Kate/Julia Martin. Johnson appears to be the name of her biological parents.
