James Alexander Fulton, 78, and his wife, Florence Josephine Fulton, 78, both of Springfield, Mo., departed this life Friday, May 12, 2006, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident at Pineville, Mo. Josephine was born November 6, 1927, at Noel, Mo., to James Marshall and Elizabeth Ellen (Childress) Bennett. She worked for a number of years as a secretary at WCA Waste Corp. of Missouri, formerly of Sunrise Disposal. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Springfield, Mo. James Alexander Fulton was born January 26, 1928, at Dawson, Okla., to Frederick Ralph and Eleanor Blount (Lindsay) Fulton. He worked as an Engineering Technician for City Utilities of Springfield for 15 years before retiring. They both enjoyed the outdoors and nature. James enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and creating devices to keep the squirrels out of the feeder. Josephine volunteered in many ways at the church and especially enjoyed sewing with her church ladies group, the Sew-n-Sews. They both loved their grandchildren. Grandpa teased them while Grandma doted on them. Survivors include their children, Brent Fulton and his wife, Donna, and their children, James and Sarah Fulton, all of Shawnee, Kan., and Judy Dill and her husband, Jeff, and their children, Adam and Lindsay Dill, all of Buffalo, Mo. Funeral services for James Alexander and Florence Josephine Fulton will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, in First United Methodist Church, formerly Grace United Methodist Church, 600 S. Jefferson, Springfield, Mo. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience after 1 p.m. today at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, Mo. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to American Heart Association or the Methodist women Sew-n-Sews in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
