Willard V. Shipley, 75, 1875 Allison Road, Piney Flats, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was a lifelong resident and a son of the late Robert Lee and Nora Grace Hodge Shipley.
Mr. Shipley retired from Empire Furniture Co. after 34 years of service.
He was a farmer and part-time clerk at Milhorn Grocery.
Mr. Shipley was a member of Rocky Springs Ruritan Club.
He was a Presbyterian
Mr. Shipley was preceded in death by one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Ensor Shipley, Blountville; one son, Gary L. Shipley, Gray; four brothers, Donald L. Shipley and J.W. Mary Shipley - BLOUNTVILLE
BLOUNTVILLE — Mary Lou Shipley, age 88, of Greystone Health Care, Blountville, TN, formerly of 1875 Allison Road, Piney Flats, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, December 18, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness.
A native of Piney Flats, she was a daughter of the late Abe and Amanda Campbell Ensor. She was of the Presbyterian Faith. Mrs. Shipley was a homemaker and loved gardening and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Shipley, September 28, 1997; and a brother, Billy Ensor.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Jean Shipley, of Gray, TN; six step-grandchildren; and several step-great grandchildren.
The celebration of life service for Mrs. Shipley will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Tetrick Funeral Home-Bluff City Chapel with Rev. Gary Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday prior to the service at Tetrick Funeral Home-Bluff City Chapel.
The graveside and interment service will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 22, at Sanders Cemetery, Piney Flats, TN. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 P.M. for the graveside service.
Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Doctors and Nursing Staff of Greystone Health Care and Doctors and Nursing Staff of 2700 ICU Wing of Johnson City Medical Center.
Those who prefer in lieu of flowers may make donations to Second Harvest Food Bank, 127 Dillon Court, Gray, TN 37615.

He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Mr. Shipley was preceded in death by a daughter, and two granddaughters.

Mr. Shipley was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and was employed as a construction superintendent with the J.E. Green Company. He was a member and deacon of Zion Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Pam Huckaba Shipley; a son, Casey Brent Shipley, of the home; four brothers, Rick Shipley, Elizabethton, Tony Shipley, Watauga, Roger Shipley, Charlotte, and Ken Shipley, Colonial Heights; and two sisters, Donna Treadway, Watauga, and Renee Campbell, Morristown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
