Christine Evelyn Biles died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville. She was 91 years old.
Chris was born on Feb. 2, 1918 in Kenner, Mo. She was the daughter of the late George and Sophia Wyss Blackwell. On May 6, 1939, she was married to Harold Biles at Chamois. They spent their entire married life in Bland. Chris worked at International Shoe Company, O’Sullivan’s Industries and Amex. She was an active member of the Bland Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a son, Forrest Lee; two brothers, Amos and Leonard Blackwell; and four sisters, Sadie Rector, Mae Gosnell, Allene Martin and Lucille Jett.
Her survivors include a son,. Leland Biles and wife Peggy of Owensville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, July 21 at Bland Christian Church with interment in Bland Union Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Sassmann’s Funeral Home.
