This is to inform you that your mother is dead she died Sept. 28 was taken bad sept 22 she lost her mind entirely only for a few minutes at a time ... had been poorly all summer she was taken on monday morning and didnot know any thing. Tuesday night at one oclock we gave her a dose of morphine & she went to sleep & slept on till she died she lost her mind her seeing & her hearing & could not speak she didnot swollow anything from tuesday night till sunday night at 6 oclock she was buried nicely a nice coffin & black burryin robe she was buried at the Range grave yard it was spinal affection that killed her it went to her head, she received your picture a short time before she was taken she was proud of it ... a was glad to get hers & says for you to come see her. I sent you boys a ... & looked ... to come. Elbert has had two spells to day light ones. I will close for the present.
