Utica Lodge held its 3rd Annual Willard Canter Golf Scramble. The Golf Scramble is our major fund raiser each year. The scramble is named after Brother Willard Canter, a Past Master of Utica Lodge and a person that exemplified dedication to Masonic principles. Brother Willard passed away in 2006.
This year the Golf Scramble was unique since Worshipful Master Chuck Canter (far right and Willard Canter’s son) and Chip Canter was on the winning team for the Scramble. Chip is our
newest Master Mason and was raised in May. The Winning team, left to right, Josh Bowman, Kevin Wilder, and Chip Canter. Philip Wilder, a 4th team member is not pictured.

Funeral services for Willard D. "Bill" Canter, 79, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. He died Monday, June 20, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Jeffersonville, a former resident of Sebring, Fla., and retired from Colgate-Palmolive Company with 38 years service. He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church and Utica Masonic lodge 227, where he served as Past Master. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Martha Jane Cantor; two sons, Melvin and Charles Canter; a daughter, Phyllis Wilkins, all of Jeffersonville; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 21.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to hospice of Southern Indiana or Utica Masonic Lodge 337.
