Julia P. Ernst Palmer HANOVER Julia P. Ernst Palmer, 95, of Hanover, died Sunday evening, Oct. 12, 2003, at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. She was the wife of Harold H. Ernst, who died Sept. 11, 1969, and Strine W. J. Palmer, who died April 7, 1999. Born April 12, 1908, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Cora E. (Miller) Gobrecht. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover. Surviving are a son, Harold Ernst Jr. of Hanover; two daughters, Patricia J. Orendorff and Connie L. Oller, both of Hanover; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mildred Bagienski of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Arlene Gobrecht, Matilda Fisher and Miriam Lear; and three brothers, Daniel, David and Isaac Gobrecht. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. There will be no viewing. The Kenworthy Funeral Home Inc., Hanover, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York St., Hanover, Pa. 17331.

David R. Gobrecht, 66, of 224 Diller Rd., Hanover, died Tuesday evening at Hanover General Hospital.
He was the son of Mrs. Cora Miller Gobrecht and the late Daniel Gobrecht.
He was a veteran of World War II and had been employed by Doubleday and Company until his retirement four years ago. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ; the Hanover Fire Company No. 1, and the Amvets.
Surviving are his widow, Alta M. Snyder Gobrecht; three sisters, Mrs. Julie Ernst, Hanover; Mrs. Miriam Lear, New Cumberland; Mrs. Mildred Bagienski, Hanover R. 5, and a brother, Isaac Gobrecht, near Philadelphia.
The funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Hanover, with Rev. Carl A. Folk officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.

She died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000 in Luther Acres, Lititz.
Born April 16, 1914 in Hanover to the late Daniel and Cora Miller Gobrecht and the widow of William H. Lear, she was a retired sales clerk for the former Hi-Lo Store, New Cumberland.
Mrs. Lear is survived by two daughters, Judith E. Whitcomb of Ephrata and Janelle M. Ballew of Landisburg; two sisters, Julia Palmer and Mildred Bagienski, both of Hanover; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Glenn A. Beard Jr. will officiate at services. Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland, is handling the arrangements.

Mildred Mary Bagienski, 93, died Thursday, December 31, 2015, at the Gettysburg Lutheran Home. Mildred was the loving wife of Benjamin P. Bagienski, who died March 5, 1995.
Born July 18, 1922, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Daniel H. "Pete" and Cora E. (Miller) Gobrecht.
Mildred was a 1939 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover. Mildred was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover, where she was active on the church consistory for 20 years, serving as a church elder and as Chairman of the Trustees. Mrs. Bagienski worked for the former Eisenhart Wallcoverings for 35 years and later was a sales clerk for Hanover Fabric before retiring. Mildred enjoyed making crafts, needlework, and wallpapering.
Mildred is survived by one granddaughter, Lori M. Suders of Fayetteville; two great-granddaughters, Christina (Suders) Lindsey of Waynesboro, and Jennifer Suders of Fayetteville; and two great-great-grandchildren, Sydney Lindsey and Caden LaValliere. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pola May Shindledecker, who died August 16, 1994; and two sisters, Julia P. Palmer and Miriam Lear.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2015, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 725, Baltimore St., Hanover, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mildred may be made to Grace United Church of Christ, 100 Fourth St., Hanover, PA 17331.
