Ann Maria "Annie" Gobrecht1,2,3,4,5,6
F, #34111, b. 25 July 1858, d. 23 August 1924
Parents
BASIC FACTS
Ann Maria "Annie" Gobrecht was born on 5 July 1858 in Pennsylvania.5 She was born on 25 July 1858 in Pennsylvania.1,2 She and George P. Kline, Jr., were married about 1880.2 She died on 23 August 1924, at age 66, in Pennsylvania.7,5 Ann Maria "Annie" Gobrecht was also known as Annie May Gobrecht.5 She had reference number 34403. She was enumerated on the census in York County, Pennsylvania (1880, 1900 - 1920.) In the genealogy prepared by G. Matthew Gobrecht (matt@gobrechtfamily.com) he says that Ann was married to Unknown Miller. No additional information has been found for this marriage. In the obituary for Ann's sister, Louisa Catherine (Gobrecht) Resh, who died in 1920, it says that Louisa was survived by a sister, Mrs. George Kline. In the 1920 Census for Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania there is the family of George P. Kline, married to Annie M. Kline with son Roy G. Kline. The age of wife Annie does not agree with that of Ann Marie Gobrecht. However, in the 1900 Census for Hanover, York Co., Pennsylvania, there is a record for what appears to be the same George P. Kline family. It has wife Annie M. and three children: Roxie U., Leroy and Ethel I. In this record the birth dates are markedly different from the birth dates in the 1920 Census. In the 1900 Census, Annie M. is shown as being born in July of 1859. In Matthew Gobrecht's genealogy, Ann Marie Gobrecht is shown as being born in July of 1858 so the dates are pretty close. For the above reason, I am showing the 1900 Census family of George P. Kline as Ann's family.

Henry Louis Gobrecht-Gobright1,2,3,4,5
M, #34113, b. 1 February 1862, d. 10 June 1925

BASIC FACTS
Henry Louis Gobrecht-Gobright was born on 1 February 1862 in Union Twp., Adams Co., Pennsylvania.1,6 He and Ida May Dayhoff were married on 9 June 1883 in Carroll Co., Maryland.7 He died on 10 June 1925, at age 63, in Maryland.8,6 He was buried in Saint Pauls Lutheran Cemetery, Uniontown, Carroll Co., Maryland. Henry Louis Gobrecht-Gobright had reference number 34405. He was enumerated on the census in Carroll County, Maryland (1880, 1900 - 1920.) He resided in New Windsor, Carroll Co, Maryland (1920.)8 He was a Farmer (1900); carpenter - house (1910, 1920.)3,4,5 The evidence that the Henry L. Gobright buried in Saint Pauls Lutheran Cemetery is our Henry L. Gobrecht is a little thin. 1) Both Henrys were born in 1862 in Pennsylvania. 2) In the 1880 Census, Henry is shown living with his mother and step-father in Carroll County, Maryland. 3) The obituary for Henry's sister, Louisa Catherine (Gobrecht) Resh, who died in 1920, says that Henry is still alive and living in Maryland.
There are several genealogies published on the internet that show our Henry L. Gobright as the son of William H. Gobright and Matilda Bunting. These are clearly in error. The 1860 Census for Baltimore, Maryland shows William H. Gobright, wife Matilda A. (Bunting) Gobright and their three children (William, Henry and Mary) living with Matilda's parents, William Joseph and Ann Delia (Barnhouse) Bunting and two of the Bunting's grown sons. The Henry Gobright shown in this census was born about 1847 in Maryland and cannot be the Henry L. Gobright born in 1862 in Pennsylvania.

Hanged Himself To Bedpost
Mr. Daniel L. Resh, a prosperous farmer residing on his small home near White Run, west of Bonneauville, Mountpleasant (sic) township, was found dead hanging to the bedpost at his home 9on Saturday morning. Mr. Resh lived alone and on Saturday morning when Mr. Smith, the huckster, stopped at the Resh home for the marketing he found the house locked up and going to the stable noticed the stock had not been fed for some time. Thinking that something might have happened to the old gentleman, Mr. Smith went to the home of a daughter of Mr. Resh, some distance away, and notified her and together they returned to his home, forced open the door, and going to his bed chamber found the father hanging to the bedpost dead, having used a hitching strap for the purpose. Just when the dead was committed no one knows, whether it was during the night or the day previous. What caused Mr. Resh to take his life is not known, he was well fixed financially and was not known to have any other troubles. Deceased was aged about 67 years and is survived by several grown children. His wife died some months ago. His funeral took place Monday morning, interment being made at Grace church, Two Taverns.

Thieves Blamed For Hanover Fire
Burglars who entered the home of Noah T. Richard, Hanover, Saturday evening while he and his wife were at the bedside of Mr. Richard's dying mother were blamed for starting a fire which caused damage to the house and it's contents estimated at about $3,000. The loss is partially covered by insurance.
The fire, discovered by Emory G. Resh, owner of the property, swept through the first floor of the brick house before it was brought under control by members of the Grangeville fire company.
The fire appeared to have started in the front room on the first floor where the damage seemed the greatest. The floor was burned through at one point near the door. Almost everything on the first floor was destroyed or badly damaged.
When the firemen reached the house they reported the front door was open. Mr. and Mrs. Richard had locked the door when they left earlier in the evening to go to the home of Mrs. Anne M. Richard, whose death occurred shortly after Saturday midnight.
Members of the family who investigated after the fire said they found burned matches scattered over the floor in various parts of the house.
The belief that burglars had dropped the matches was strengthened when Isaiah Willet, who lives nearby, reported that burned matches also had been found on the floor of his home. Nothing had been taken from the Willet home it was reported.

Coroner, L. U. Zech, of York, learned from witnesses that Resh, a janitor at Gospel Center church, had leaned a ladder against the roof above the main entrance. As he stepped from the ladder with his bucket and equipment onto the roof it tore loose and he fell fifteen feet to the ground. He landed on his head, witnesses said.
