Mrs. Conaway was born Nov. 8, 1917, in York. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Grace (Geiselman) Smith.
She was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Conway, Myrtle Beach Garden Club and past Royal Matron of Myrtle Beach Amaranth Lodge 19.
Mrs. Conaway is survived by a daughter, Donna L. Brown of Landenberg; two stepsons, Harry A. Conaway of Hatboro, and William I. Conaway Jr. of Yukon, Okla.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Emil J. Engelman, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown. 04-07-95

(Hershey) Wernig Schlegel, 84, of Springettsbury Township, entered into rest at 2:10 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2004 at Manor Care Health Services Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Paul A. Wernig, and the late John J. Schlegel. Born December 4, 1919 in Dover, a daughter of the late Earl and Hazel (Geiselman) Hershey, she had first worked at Stock Shirt Factory, and later at South Pine Nightwear, where she worked for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and was a former member of its Golden Nuggets. She was an avid quilter, and had also been a member of the Susquehanna Yacht Club. Mrs. Schlegel is survived by two nieces, Sonja L. Breneman and Glenda M. Taurins, both of York; two grand nieces, Jodie L. Breneman and Krista A. Taurins; two grand nephews, Jerrold J. Breneman, and Delvin G. Miller; and a brother-in-law, William J. Beecher of York. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Baumeister, Orcutt & Small Mortuaries, Inc., South Queen at Jackson Street, York with Brother Michael B. Rubus officiating. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 66 Big Mount Road, Thomasville, PA 17364; or to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Ave., Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Note: The Sonja L. (Bicherick) Breneman (b. 15 Mar 1940) listed as a niece in Pauline's obituary may not be a daughter of one of Pauline's siblings. Sonja appears in the 1940 Census and is listed as a great-granddaughter of Earl Franklin Hershey's mother. It is possible that she is a granddaughter of one of Earl's siblings.

He was a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church and also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Shaull is survived by two sisters, Betty J. Keesey of Palmyra and June Stroup of Camp Hill; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard M. Shaull.
