He was enumerated on the census in Sumner County, Kansas (1910, 1915, 1920); Clark County, Kansas (1925); Jackson County, Kansas (1930.)3,4 He was a Deliveryman - wholesale fishery (1930.)4 The estate of Ralph Kerr Moore was probated in 1938 case #532, Anchorage Borough, Alaska.4 Ralph Frowe Moore wrote:
He was born at 208 North G Street, Wellington, KS. As an adult he was 5 feet 7 inches, 148 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. The second of four boys. When his father could no longer farm and Lula wanted be near her sister the family moved to Kansas City, but Ralph stayed with an aunt in Ashland.
Ralph eventually moved to Kansas City and learned the printing trade. He had an artistic bent and Francis said he took some art courses. To quote the Anchorage Times article about his death: "He came to Alaska from Kansas City with a friend, Gentry Shuster, an Alaska Railroad employe at Seward. He had planned to have his mother come to visit him and she was to have for Alaska soon after the Fourth of July. She was detained in Rockford, Illinois by the pending marriage of Ralph's brother, Donald, and was to come north immediately after the ceremony."
He worked for the Anchorage Times Publishing Co. as a printer. He was interested in hunting and had started a homestead log cabin. He had filed a homestead claim October 19, 1937 for 40 acres which cost him $6.50.
Died in a plane crash of small private plane he and a friend owned. Engine failed as they were taking off. Ralph was killed instantly. The neck was broken and the head badly crushed the newspaper reported. Wilber Morris the pilot was injured but managed to pull Ralph out of the wreck and eventually summon help. The publisher of the Anchorage Times wrote to Lula: "All of the Times staff extends you heartfelt sympathy in the loss of Ralph last Sunday. We all feel it keenly. He was a fine man and we loved him." He had worked for the Anchorage Times for about two years.
The Anchorage Times wrote an editorial in praise of Ralph: Only two short years ago you walked into our shop a stranger, seeking work. You joined us on a temporary basis. But it was only a day or two until you were one of us....Without you, Ralph, those two years would have been much more difficult for us. You have made a real place for yourself among us and we are going to miss you-miss you lots...You were a fine man, Ralph. Knowing you and being with you has enriched our lives."
The front page news report continued: "Moore's hobby was amateur mechanics and guns. Target practice on the Anchorage Rifle Club range brought Morris and Moore into close friendship and made them fast companions. Moore was one the club's crack pistol shots while Morris held good scores on the rifle range. The two men spent a good many of their leisure hours together. Moore recently acquired some homesteading property a few miles east of Anchorage and was proving it during his spare time. He drove a motorcycle with a third wheel attachment to and from his land and also used his motorcycle on fishing and hunting trips near Anchorage."
At his funeral in Kansas City were his mother's uncles Henry and George Vawter, Fara Moore, and and his aunt Getrude Munson Widney.

BASIC FACTS
Esther May Lennen was born about 1904 in Ness Co., Kansas.2 She and Donald Orton Moore were married before 1953.2 Esther May Lennen had reference number 46526. She was enumerated on the census in Ness County, Kansas (1905, 1910, 1915, 1920, 1925.)2 She resided in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas (1953, 1956.)2 There are a number of genealogies on Ancestry.com that show this Esther (born in Ness County, Kansas to parents Oliver and Lilla Lennen) married to Joseph Alexander. I believe that this is incorrect. I believe that the Esther Lennen that married Joseph Alexander was born in Kansas to parents Orville and Alice/Olive Lennen. Although this Esther was born in Kansas, she grew up in Cleo, Major County, Oklahoma and is shown there in both the 1910 and 1920 Census records. The reason I believe that this is the Esther that married Joseph Alexander is that their first child was born in Cleo Springs, Major County, Oklahoma.
