BASIC FACTS

Daisy Mae Munson was born on 24 July 1882 in Sumner Co., Kansas.1 She and Charles Macey Meyer were married about 1900.2 She and Charles Macey Meyer were divorced before 1905.3 She and Ames Judd, M.D., were married before 1924. She died on 17 June 1924, at age 41, in Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York. She was buried in Osborne Township Cemetery (aka Mayfield Cemetery), Mayfield, Wellington, Sumner Co., Kansas.1
Daisy Mae Munson had reference number 46559. She was enumerated on the census in Sumner County, Kansas (1885, 1900, 1905.)3 She was a Dressmaker (1900); music teacher (1905.)3 She resided in Wichita, Sedgwick Co., Kansas (1896.)4 The 1900 Census record for Wellington, Sumner County, Kansas shows that Daisy married Charles Macey Meyer. They had just married in 1900 and by 1905, Charles was married to Effie Smiley. Whether Daisy died shortly after she married Charles or whether Daisy and Charles divorced is not known.
Several genealogies say that Daisy married Ames Judd and died in New York. (One genealogy says she married Albert M. Judd. I believe that the Daisy that married Albert M. Judd was not our Daisy.) I can find no record of our Daisy after she was married to Charles Macey Meyer. Daisy is supposed to be buried in Osborne Township Cemetery, Mayfield, Kansas. If we could find her stone maybe we could answer this question.

Returns from Tour of Europe
Samuel Birk, Kansas City Musician,
Studied Band Conditions Overseas
Samuel Birk, Kansas City musician, arrived in New York Saturday on the Aquatania after an extended trip through England and Europe. Mr. Birk, who is the first assistant teacher and librarian in Dr. E. M. Hiner's band school, 3227 Brooklyn avenue, is expected to arrive in Kansas City within the next few days.
The tour was made for the purpose of studying brass band conditions in other countries and for gathering novelties for Hiner's band. Mr. Birk left Kansas City six months ago, going direct to England. While abroad he visited virtually all the large cities on the continent and has found, according to his letters to Dr, Hiner, that jazz music has become as popular in Europe as it is in the United States.
