CEDAR FALLS -- Marcella Kitzmiller, 74, of 3120 Big Woods Road, died Wednesday, July 25, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of respiratory failure.
She was born July 18, 1916 in Shell Rock, daughter of Henry J. and Mary Ellen Sansenbach Van Hauen. She married James D. Kitzmiller on Dec. 21, 1945 in Vero Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Kitzmiller received her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and taught school in the Belmond School system. Prior to World War II she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C. She served in the Navy during World War II and up to retirement in 1964 was a bookkeeper for Cedar Falls Furniture Upholstery Co.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul E. of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Jean K. Sterling of Ankeny; and two sisters, Evelyn Wilkes of Terrell, Texas and Beulah Martin of Newell; she was preceded in death by a son, Jack in infancy; and a brother, Orlow Van Hauen.

Cedar Falls Wave to Be Married in Florida Dec, 22
Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Van Hauen, 1010 West Third street, Cedar Falls, announces the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Marcella, Wave specialist third class, to James Gray Kitzmiller, motor machinist's mate third class, of Vero Beach, Fla., son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Kitzmiller of Bassett, Va.
The wedding ceremony is scheduled to be performed Dec. 11 at Datona Beach, Fla.

Note: The exact marriage date is a mystery. This announcement offers two possible dates. Florida marriage records show a third date and James obituary shows a fourth date.
Note: James Gray Kitzmiller's mother, Naomi Victoria "Oma" Widner, passed away in 1931. At present I do not show a second marriage for his father, James Calvin Kitzmiller.
