THREE DEATHS AS SUICIDES.
Families Requested Investigations Regarding Couple, Friend.
Kansas City and Independence police said yesterday clues indicate suicide in the deaths of Jack McGuire, 29, of 10805 Truman road, Independence; his wife, Mrs. Nedra McGuire, and a friend, James Edward Parker, 31, of 420 West Eleventh street.
Joseph Connors, a deputy coroner, said relatives had requested investigations. Parker died April 25 at the General hospital after taking twenty capsules of a drug. McGuire died at the home Wednesday of a bullet wound in the head. Mrs. McGuire died of a bullet wound yesterday after calling police and discussing the death of her husband.
Lieut. Lester Haupt, in charge of the homicide bureau, said he was positive that the deaths of Mrs. McGuire and Parker were suicides. Both left notes, he said, Mrs. McGuire complaining of accusations made against her in the death of her husband, and Parker bequeathing his belongings to his father.
Dean Moss, an Independence patrolman called to the McGuire home by Mrs. McGuire on the death of her husband, said McGuire was holding a .22-caliber rifle, and had been shot in the head. A note signed by McGuire was found next to the body. Moss said most of the note was illegible, but a readable part told of McGuire's love for his wife.
Services for Mrs. McGuire will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday at the Methodist church, Bosworth, Mo. Burial will be in the Big Creek cemetery, Bosworth.
Mrs. McGuire was born at Bosworth and had been a resident of Greater Kansas City nineteen years. She was a member of the Bales Baptist church. Surviving are a daughter, Rita Faye Lewis, 2, and her mother, Mrs. Muriel Fay Moore, 1810 Maddi Street; a brother, Ray T. Fox, Wichita; the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Thurlo, Bosworth, and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Flora M. Fox, Tina, Mo.
