Carl "Taylor" "Red" Hodges, 81, went to be with the Lord, Feb. 2, 2004, in Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Piney Flats and was the son of the late Carl A. and Lola Beatrice Gross Hodges. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force, and was a retired employee of Automotive Service and Supply.
Carl was a member of New Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Judy Tallman Hodges; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Military graveside service will be conducted by Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post 6975 at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in New Bethel Cemetery, Piney Flats, with Rev. Walter Herring officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at Akard Funeral Home. Those wishing to attend the service may go in procession from the funeral home following the visitation.
Akard Funeral Home, Bristol, TN is serving the family of Mr. Hodges.
