Lyle Albert Christopherson VISTA -- After living a rich and vibrant 83 years, Lyle Albert Christopherson, peacefully passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his daughter's home in Chino Hills, Calif. He was born April 23rd, 1929 to Lawrence and Ethel Christopherson in Redondo Beach, Calif. Lyle was an electrician and worked for General Telephone Company for 35 years. To lavish in the beauty of the beach that he so loved, he resided in Vista, Calif., for the last two decades of his life. Lyle was madly in love with his wife, Patricia, whom he treated like his blushing bride for the 63 years they were married. Always eager for another adventure, Lyle loved to deep-sea fish, ride a motorcycle, play tennis and golf, skin dive for abalone and body surf. He was also known to play a boisterous and intense game of poker. He did not just nourish his family with his exhilaration for living, but he fed them his delicious "famous" pancakes with pads of butter and syrup. He was a man who never talked about what he could do; instead he simply did. Lyle is survived by his wife: Patricia; one son: David; three daughters: Cathy, Theresa and Linda; one sister: Bonnie; one brother: Loren; several grand- and great grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends. Rather than bringing the day to life, Lyle brought life to the day. Services to be announced.

Pop, as he was known by his family and friends, was born in San Diego, CA. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Ellman-Fibiger; his son, Danny Fibiger; and step-son, Cliff Mifflin. Pop has five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, as well as 10 great grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. He served our great Nation in the United States Navy and fought during WWII. He retired in 1973 from the Bechtel Corporation where he was employed as a boiler maker. Pop was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed golfing, and loved taking walks along Dana Point Harbor with Maggie. Gladys Fibiger, his wife of 54 years, and his daughter, Geraldine Marks, preceded him in death.

Services for Pop will be held at Queen of Heaven Mortuary and Cemetery in Rowland Heights on Monday, March 19th, at 10:30 am. A rosary will be said prior to the service at 9:45 am. Graveside services will follow at the same location. Viewing will be available between 8:00 am until 9:45 am on Monday.
