Thomas Alexander "Scottie" Scott, 72, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002. Born in Glen Alpine, NC, he had been a Hampton resident since 1967.
Scottie was the founder of Scott's General Contracting, which was in business from 1971-1992. He was also an Air Force Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring in 1969 after 21 years.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Georgia Scott; his son, Ray Branner and his wife, Karen, of Gloucester; his sister, Charlie Mae Greer of Glen Alpine, NC; grandson, Ryan A. Branner, granddaughter, Megan R. Branner, and Great-Granddaughter, Gabrielle Branner.
The family wishes to invite friends to visit R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton to pay their respects on Wednesday or Thursday. The family will receive friends in the home of Clariene Cagle from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. A graveside service will be conducted 9 a.m. Friday at Parklawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Don Stroud.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Bonnie and Ed Heath, Monica and Doris and Earl Uebelhoer.
