Funeral services for Walter W. Collins have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004, at First United Metohdist Church with the Rev. Bryan Mangam officiating.
Burial is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery in Lee's Summit, Mo., under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Mr. Collins was born Jan. 23, 1911, in Dana, Ind., the son of Alva Glenwood and Ora M. (Jenks) Collins. He died at Forest Hills Nursing Home in Broken Arrow on Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the age of 93.
A 1929 graduate of Lee's Summit (Mo.) High School, he earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Kansas in 1933. He was a United States Navy veteran.
He married the former Miss Florence May Wood on Jan. 9, 1971, in Tulsa. The couple moved to Broken Arrow from Lee's Summit in 1981.
Mr. Collins owned and operated a grain elevator and feed store in Lee's Summit for some 20 years. He was a member of the Broken Arrow Rotary Club and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughter Janice and husband Carl Connally; sons Ken Collins, Bill and wife Phyllis Burchfiel and John and wife Karen Burchfiel.
Memorial contributions may be made to te Broken Arrow Rotary Club Foundation, P.O. Box 893, Broken Arrow, OK 74013.

Note: The references to Bill and wife Phyllis Burchfiel and John and wife Karen Burchfiel in the above obituary appear to be step-children, children of Florence May Wood's first marriage to Unknown Burchfiel.
