SPRINGETTSBURY TWP. Marty Lou (Shue) Strasbaugh, 84, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehab Center. S he was the widow of the late Raymond J. "Red" Strasbaugh who died April 4, 1994. Born in York on November 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Mervin E. Shue and the late Martha (Horn) Shue Bentzel. Until 1973, Mrs. Strasbaugh was a bookkeeper for the former R.S. Noonan Construction Co., York, and was also employed by various retail stores in the area. She was a graduate of William Penn High School Class of 1947 and enjoyed reading. She had served as a leader in the Cub Scout and Girl Scout programs of Bethany United Church of Christ in York. She later was a volunteer with Mobile Foods of Red Lion and had also served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the prayer chain and Call-to-Care Team of Saint John's United Church of Christ of Red Lion. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy L. Ferree, and her husband Mike, and Beth A. Parr, and her husband Terry, all of York; six grandchildren, Kristin Weaver, Carla, Stephen and Amanda Rexroth, and Kevin and Kari Strasbaugh; seven great-grandchildren, Christian, Britney, Drew, Daniel, Zachary, Eliza and Tyler; a daughter-in-law, Janina Strasbaugh of Red Lion; three half brothers, John, Edward and Jeffrey Shue of Atlanta, Ga.; and a half sister, Nancy Rueschman of Ohio. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. Strasbaugh. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 28 at Mount Zion United Church of Christ, 1054 Ridgewood Road, York, with the Rev. Cathy H. Sherry officiating. RED LION-Michael R. Strasbaugh, 53, of Red Lion, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2002, at his home. He was the husband of Janina M. (Horn) Strasbaugh. They celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary August 26. No viewing. Following cremation at White Rose Crematorium, a Casual Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 161 N. Main St., Red Lion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David D. Tietje. Mr. Strasbaugh was born Sept. 8, 1949, in York. He was the son of Marty Lou (Shue) Strasbaugh of York and the late Raymond J. Strasbaugh. He was a warehouseman with the former Flickinger, former Scrivner and Fleming for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of William Penn High School Class of 1967. Mr. Strasbaugh also is survived by one son, Kevin M. Strasbaugh of Red Lion; one daughter, Kari S. Strasbaugh of Red Lion; and two sisters, Kathy Ferree and Elizabeth Parr, both of York. The graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt. Rose Ave., with the Rev. Jonathan Sawicki officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Dale is survived by three children, Sandra Diller, Gregory Anstine and Susan Thomas; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by Theresa's children, Charles and Michael Welt.
