Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ferguson and Rev. Jeremy Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Pleasant Valley Church of Brethren Cemetery.

Fred S. Garst 92, Jonesborough died Thursday Jan. 21, 1999 at Asbury Center. Mr. Garst was a lifelong Washington County resident and a son of the late John A. and Mattie Ann Keefauver Garst. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Garst was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and on the church board. He was president of the Pleasant Valley Community Club. Mr. Garst was a former secretary, treasurer and agent of Farmer's Mutual Insurance of Washington County. He was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl I. Garst; one daughter, Ann Garst Daggett, Bridgewater, Va; two sons, Larry W. Garst, Gray and John L. Garst Jonesborough; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dillow-Taylor was in charge.
