GATE CITY -- Funeral services for Eugene R. Yoakley, 43, Merritt Island, Fla., will be at 2 p.m. Monday from Warren Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Chapo and the Rev. Douglas Hawks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 tonight, and also at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Martin B. Yoakley, Gate City.

Former City Man Killed In Florida
A former Kingsport man, Eugene R. Yoakley, 43, was killed in an electrical accident at a construction site in Arcadia, Fla., Thursday afternoon.
Yoakley was born in Kingsport and had spent most of his life in Scott County before moving to Merritt Island, Fla. where he was the general superintendent of Allen's of Florida, Inc., General Contractors. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna R. Yoakley, Merritt Island, Fla.; step-son, Stephen Yoakley; step-daughter, Stephine, both of Merritt Island, Fla.; mother, Mrs. Martin B. Yoakley, Gate City; brothers, David H. Yoakley, Pensacola, Fla., Charles R. Yoakley, San Hosea, Calif., Ronald (Pete) Yoakley, Gate City; Richard W. Yoakley, Oak Ridge; Martin D. STEELE, BETTY ''BETSY'' YOAKLEY - age 66, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, January 6, 1998, at her home. Mrs. Steele was the former owner of the floral shop Bouquets by Betsy. She was born in Kingsport, Tenn. She and her husband Charles K. Steele, by whom she is survived, have been residents of Oak Ridge since 1952. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and a member of the Oak Ridge Women's Republican Club. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Honeycutt of Clinton; a granddaughter, Monica Hill of Oak Ridge; and a great-granddaughter, Maghanne Hill, also of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by two sisters, Kathleen Bond of DeLand, Fla., and Andrelle Mann of Gate City, Va.; and three brothers, Pete Yoakley of Gate City, Va., Martin Yoakley of Elizabethton and Charles Yoakley of DeLand. Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in chapel of McCarty-Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Father Stephen Freeman officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carter-McKinney Cemetery in Duff, Va. Family and friends will meet at the Gate City Funeral Home in Gate City at 1 p.m. to proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. at McCarty-Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
