Robert Vernon “Bob” Hall, age 81, Gray, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Hall was born in Washington County and son of the late Lokie & Esther Archer Hall.
Mr. Hall was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Kat Keefauver Hall, brothers, Harold Hall and Jerry Hall and a sister, Shirley Osborne.
He was a member and served as past deacon of Boones Creek Christian Church.
Mr. Hall was a United States Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Hassayampa-A145.
He retired from the Kingsport Press, where he was a Supervisor. He enjoyed farming, raising beef cattle and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Privette Hall, Gray; son and daughter-in-law, Robert V. II & Sharon Hall; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lynn & Donald Sims and Tammie & John Payne; grandchildren, Sarah Sims, Katie Payne Boone and husband Josh, Andrew Sims, Kassidy Hall and Ben Hall; great-granddaughter, Emery Sims; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Hall and Julia Hall; brother-in-law, T.J. Osborne; and several nephews and nieces
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Boones Creek Christian Church with Minister David Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be John Payne, Josh Boone, Donald Sims, Andrew Sims, Dean Crumley and Mike Rowland. Honorary pallbearers will be Privette Brothers, Roy Hall, David Saylor, T.J. Osborne and Edward Bowman.
Memorial donations may be made to the Boones Creek Christian Church 50/50 Campaign, 305 Christian Church Rd. Gray, TN 37615.

Mary Bowman
Mrs. Mary Margaret Beeson Bowman, age 92, of the Boones Creek Community, Johnson City, died on Friday, January 23, 2004, in the Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 4, 1911, in Terre Haute, Indiana, and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Ella Anderson Beeson. She was a graduate of the Wiley High School, studied at the Jordan Conservatory of Music and received her degree from Indiana State University.
Following her graduation, she taught music for 10 years in the Paris, IL. School System.
She was a gifted vocalist from the age of three. She sang professionally, and studied under the tutelage of Romano Romani in New York at the age of 15. After studying in New York, she traveled extensively throughout the United States with the Paul Ashe Troupe. In 1940, while visiting in Johnson City friends from Terre Haute, Indiana, Dr. and Mrs. Pete Fugua, she met her husband, Dr. Joseph Robert Bowman at the Hurstleigh Club Dance at the Johnson City County Club. She and Dr. Bowman married three years later on October 10, 1943.
She was active in numerous civic and social endeavors including The Garden Club, The Junior Service league, the Washington County-Unicoi County Medical Auxiliary, of which she had served as president, and the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority of which she served as sponsor of the East Tennessee University Chapter, and was co-founder and past president of the Johnson City Community Concerts. In 1974, she and Dr, Bowman moved to Singer Island, Florida, where she served as a member and president of the Palm Beach County Medical Auxiliary. She and Dr, Bowman returned to Johnson City in 1990, where she spent the last years of her life on the family farm in the Boones Creek Community.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Johnson City for many years and was presently a member of the Boones Creek Christian Church. Her husband, Dr. Joseph Robert Bowman, preceded Mrs. Bowman in death on April 27, 1999.
She is survived by three daughters, Ahn Beeson Bowman of the home, Julia Beeson Bowman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Marilyn Beeson Bowman of Johnson City.; one grandson, William Bowman Bradley of the home; one sister, Lavern Beeson Roberts of Terre Haute, IN.; and many loved nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bowman will be conducted at 3:00 P.M.. Tuesday, January 27, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City with Mr. Charles I. Reece, minister, officiating.
Music will be under the direction of Ambers Wilson, pianist. There will be a gathering of friends and family at the funeral home from 1:30 P.M. Tuesday until the service time. Friends who wish to make donations in memory of Mrs. Bowman may make donations to the Appalachian Christian Village, 2012 Sherwood Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.
