Johnson City --(Spl)-- Funeral Services for Charles Emmett Lockett, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lockett, Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, will be held Thursday, 4:30 p.m. at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. C. G. Hannah, 114 East Unika Avenue, with the Rev. Paul Worley, pastor of the Munsy Memorial Methodist Church and the Rev. J. H. Dampler, pastor of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Monte Vista Cemetery.
The youth died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mrs. Hannah.
He is survived by his parents, a brother, Lloyd Lockett, Jr., maternal grandmother, Mrs. Hannah and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Lockett, all of Johnson City.

Mrs. Xina Hannah
Johnson City--Mrs. Xina White Hannah, 61, wife of Frank D. Hannah, Johnson City and Erwin businessman, died at Memorial Hospital Monday.
The daughter of the late Dr. Walter M. White, she was a native of Nashville but had resided here for the past 30 years.
Surviving besides the husband, are, her mother, Mrs. Frances White, of Nashville: four sisters, Mrs. James Pershing, of Clyde, Ohio; Mrs. Adele Pack, of Seattle, Wash.; Miss Bess Cochran, of Anchorage, Alaska; and Miss Frances White, of Nashville: a son, Frank D. Hannah Jr., Kingsport; and three grandchildren.

Walter Hannah was named for his grandfather, Dr. Walter Madison White, a very successful minister in the Christian Church. Walter White Hannah studied medicine and became a doctor. It is not known where he obtained his degree. Walter White Hannah enlisted in the Army during the WWII era, on December 20, 1943 in Camp Shelby, Mississippi. His records indicate that he was single at this time with no dependents. Walter married, before 1951, Doris Josephine Beasley. Two children were blessed to this union: Rebecca Ransom Hannah and Walter White Hannah, Jr. Both children were born in Germany while he was serving in the armed forces. The family returned to the United States in the mid 1950s and lived in Johnson City, Tennessee where Dr. White served the community as a medical doctor. Their happiness was short-lived, however, as tragedy occurred on December 23, 1955 in the death of Walter White Hannah. Dr. White was convinced he had some terminal disease, even though the doctors declared him fit, and plunged to his death off the roof of the John Sevier Hotel in Johnson City, Tennessee ..
Doris Beasley Hannah, a young and grieving widow, bundled up her two children and removed to North Carolina. Here she was blessed in another marriage to Thomas Lee Ross, Jr., a kind widower with children. The two formed their families and provided a loving, caring home for their combined family. Doris Beasley Hannah Ross is still living and residing in North Carolina (2007). (From Carol Robertson White.)

BEST MAN PLUMMETS FROM ROOF, Killed
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn., Dec., 23 - A prominent Johnson City doctor served as best man at his brother's wedding this morning, then leaped to his death from the roof of a 10-story hotel here Friday.
He left a note behind indicating he was worried he had a brain tumor.
Dr. Walter White Hannah, about 34, struck a concrete loading platform in an alley between John Sevier hotel and a garage. He was killed instantly.
