Luther W. Gulden, 67, of 161 Water St., Abbottstown, died Saturday, June 6, at Hanover General Hospital. He was the husband of Lillian V. Pope, who died Dec. 26, 1978. Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Martha Viola Resh Gulden. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown. He was also a member of AARP, Abbottstown Fire Company and East Berlin VFW. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater in World War II.
He is survived by one daughter, Martha L. Gulden of Akron, Ohio; one son, Henry L. Gulden of Woodinville, Wash.; two brothers, Kenneth C. Gulden of Hanover and Burnell R. Gulden of Lafayette, Ind.; two sisters, Mildred V. Howard of Windsor and Mary C. Brinton of Littlestown; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown, with his pastor, the Rev. Norbert Mamet, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Feiser Funeral Home Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Burnell R. Gulden, 79, of Lafayette, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Rosewalk Village.
Born in Hanover, Pa., on Dec. 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Martha Viola Resh Gulden.
He married Marjorie Colestock on Feb. 4, 1951, in Hanover, and she preceded him in death on July 23, 1997.
Mr. Gulden came to Lafayette from Pennsylvania in 1977 and worked as the night auditor for Budget Inn until 1982. He and his wife were house parents for Schults-Lewis Children's Home from 1977 to 1979.
Mr. Gulden was a member of Kossuth Street Baptist Church and worked in maintenance there for 1 1/2 years. He was an avid collector of angels and of Lincoln memorabilia.
Surviving are a son, Michael C. Gulden of Spokane, Wash.; two daughters, Elaine M. Borie of Lafayette and Beth A. Ashton-Hilton (husband: David) of Bristol, England; two sisters, Mildred Howard (husband: Donald) of Windsor, Pa., and Mary Brinton (husband: G. William) of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; and a brother, Kenneth Gulden (wife: Dorothy) of Hanover.
Four grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
