MICHIGANTOWN -- Ronald E. Day, 63, of 5220 County Road 400 N., died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, in his home.
Born May 3, 1940, in Salem, he lived in Lafayette before moving to Frankfort in 1966. On March 7, 1959, he married Peggy E. Altemeyer, and she survives.
Mr. Day worked at Pay Less Supermarkets from 1960 to 1977 and for Dolly Madison from 1977 until 1990. Since 1990, he had owned and operated Ron's Kwik-Marts.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salem and a past member of the Moose Lodge. He coached both Little League and Babe Ruth baseball for many years.
Surviving with his wife are four sons, Brian K. Day (wife: Laurie) and Bruce A. Day (wife: Edith), both of Michigantown, Barry L. Day (wife: Teresa) of Plymouth and Brad S. Day (wife: Kathy) of Cutler; a sister, Marcia Pollack of Greenwood; and a brother, Marvin Day (wife Jean) of Salem.
