George Shannon Hollida, 83, of Maurertown, passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at home.
George was born April 16, 1938, in Martinsburg, WV, the son of late George Reynolds and Virginia Brunk Hollida.
George is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mary C. Hollida, daughters Laurie (Kenny) Thomas of Edgewater, FL, Tammy (Noel) Weigel of Dublin, GA, and son Tony (Karen) Bauserman of Maurertown; grandchildren Jason (Jeannell) Thomas of Annapolis, MD, Joshua Thomas of Edgewater, FL, Lauren (Michael) Lowery of Shreveport, LA, Matthew (Ranna) Weigel of Dublin, GA, Paige Weigel of Dublin, GA, Justin Bauserman of Winchester, VA, Trevor Kerns of Maurertown, VA, and great-grandchildren Payton, Ryder, and Libby.
George joined the U.S. Navy and served as a medic.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 27, 6:00 ­ 8:00 pm at Valley Funeral Service, 14116 South Middle Road, Edinburg, VA 22824. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 11:00 am, Zion Christian Church, 364 Zion Church Road, Maurertown, VA 22644. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bemis, Dave Berry, Bob Dean, John Mihuc, Steve Palmerton, and Steve Taylor. George Lippincott
CAMBRIDGE -- George Lippincott of Shawnee Circle, Cambridge, a retired Kerr McGee regional manager, died Monday evening, Dec. 24, 1984 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. He was 79.
Born in Marlton, N.J., he was the son of the late George P. and Narcissa Masters Lippincott.
Mr. Lippincott moved to Cambridge in 1952, where he served as president of the Dorco Fertilizer Company and later was the regional manager for the Kerr McGee Company until he retired in 1969.
In 1927, he graduated from Pennsylvania State University, where he had played on the soccer team and was named All-American.
He served as chairman for the Delmarva Council of Boy Scouts of America, was on the Dorchester Planning and Zoning Board, the Board of Directors at Dorchester General Hospital and was active in the United Fund of Dorchester. A member of the Society of Friends, he attended the Third Haven Meeting House in Easton.
He is survived [by] his wife, the former Roslie Holliday (sic), whom he married in 1931; one sister, Helen Bliss of Gainsville, Fla.; one brother, Dr. John E. Lippincott of Scotland Neck, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Third Haven Meeting House in Easton.
Memorial donations may be sent to Dorchester General Hospital, P.O. Box 439, Cambridge, Md. 21613.
