Woodland Rites Are Set For Mill Supply Owner
WOODLAND — Funeral services for Frederick Joost, 54, Woodland contractor and farmer killed in an automobile accident, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in McNary's Chapel .
Joost, owner of the Woodland Mill Supply and a resident of Woodland more than 20 years, was killed Tuesday in a head-on collision near Mountain Home, Idaho, while on a hunting trip.
He was a native of Germany.
Survivors include his widow, Marie; sons Lawrence and Dennis both of Woodland; daughters, Sharon Rasmussen of Miami, Fla., Debbie Joost of San Diego and Bonnie Joost of Woodland; a brother Edward Frob of Peabody, Kan.; a sister, Anita Miller of St Louis, Mo. and two grandchildren.
Joost was member of Woodland Elks Lodge No 1299, the Yolo Fliers Club and the Commercial Exchange.

Geo. W. Wilt died very suddenly of appolexy at his farm home two miles north of town Tuesday morning. He was in his eighty-second year and had resided on the same place for nearly thirty-five years. The funeral arrangements have not been made at this time because his son John had gone to Chicago on Monday with a car of stock and no word has been received from him.

McSHERRY, James H., 65, former resident of Martinsburg and Cumberland, Maryland, died at his home this morning, 408 Nelson Street, Bluefield, West Virginia, after an illness of some weeks from a complication of disease. He fell unconscious yesterday, remaining that way until he died. Survivors include his wife and two children, Miss Mamie G. McSHERRY and G.H. McSHERRY, both adults. Born in Adams County, Pennsylvania, he lived in Bluefield for about 7 years as a butcher before he had to stop work. He will be buried in Bluefield.

"He (Hamilton W. Forrest) was born March 12, 1828, in Germany, and was reared on a farm attending school in this county (Adams) but is mainly self-educated. In early life, he taught school, (from 18 till 35 years of age) and then devoted his attention to farming his property adjoining his father's old homestead. He was married March 30, 1858, to Miss Louisa M. C. daughter of Michael and Mary A. Kitsmiller, descendents of the old pioneer family of that name, who settled on Conawago Creek in this county, while the Indians were still roaming over the country. Divine services were often held in their home by preachers of various denominations. They were pioneers, hospitable, friendly to Indians, and known far and wide for their honor and many virtues."

Hamilton Forrest, an aged and respected citizen of Littlestown, died at his home
on North King street Monday evening from a complication of diseases, aged 85
years.
The deceased was a life-long resident of Adams county, his early life having
been spent at farming, and the later years he has been living retired in
Littlestown. He is survived by is wife and eight children – Misses Anna and
Emma, at home; the former is a missionary to Japan, and at present is home on a
furlough; Rev. John Forrest, of Selingsgrove; Granville Forrest, Zellenople,
Pa.; Dr. Fletcher Forrest, Norwalk, Pa.; Edward Forrest, of Philadelphia; Judson
Forrest, at home, and Emory Forrest, of Gettysburg.
Funeral Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m., services at the house. Interment in Mt.
Carmel cemetery, that place, Rev. W. E. Watkins, of the Methodist church,
officiating.

OBITUARY - The Gazette and Daily, Thursday, February 05, 1931
The funeral of Rev. John Wesley Forrest, a native of Littlestown, and retired minister of the Methodist Episcopal church, who died last evening at 9:45 o'clock at the Harrisburg hospital from the effects of a stroke of paralysis, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Forrest family residence, North Queen street, Littlestown. Rev. Dr. J. Howard Ake, Harrisburg district Methodist Episcopal superintendent, will officiate. Interment will be made in Mr. Carmel cemetery, Littlestown.
The first charge of the deceased after graduating from Dickinson seminary at Williamsport, was at Mercersburg. He also filled charges at State college, York Springs, and other points in the Central Pennsylvania conference. His last appointment was a the Treverton charge. He made his home, after retirement in 1914, at Selinsgrove.
