Susan Lynette Kitzmiller Valdetero, 65, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mobile, AL on December 29, 1954 to Carl and Phyllis Kitzmiller.
Susan earned an Associate’s Degree from Southeastern Christian College in Louisville, KY in 1975. After graduation she began a career as a florist. Susan also worked as a substitute teacher and homemaker. When she wasn’t working, she loved gardening and being a grandmother. Susan had a deep love for the Lord and desired for others to see Christ in her. She was a proud Christian and active member of her church, and also volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher.
Susan was predeceased by her father Carl. She is survived by her mother Phyllis and brother Paul (Virginia) Kitzmiller. Also left to cherish her memory is her faithful and loving husband of 43 years Daniel Wayne Vadetero; her daughter Ashley (Jonathan) Herron; son Dane (Meagan) Valdetero; Grandchildren Loralye Herron, Kade Valdetero and Harrison Valdetero.
Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home-Weddington Chapel on Tuesday, November 10 from 11AM – 1PM, with service at 1 PM, and burial to follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery. The service will be Live-Streamed starting at approximately 12:55 and can be accessed through her obituary page. William Corpening
William S. Corpening, 88, Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Johnson City, he was the son of the late William Sigmon and Ella Price Corpening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Kitzmiller Corpening.
Mr. Corpening served his country in the United States Army in the 104th infantry division in Europe during WWII. He graduated from Science Hill High School. He attended Niagara University and East Tennessee State University and was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking in New York.
Mr. Corpening was a retired Senior Vice President of Hamilton Bank, which later became SunTrust Bank, Vice President of the Johnson City Jr. and Sr. Babe Ruth, past member of Pine Oaks Golf Board, a charter member of the North Johnson City Optimist Club and a member of the Kiwanis noon club for forty years. He was an avid bowler, golfer and UT Vols fan.
He was an Elder, Treasurer, and Sunday School teacher at Locust Street Church of Christ. Mr. Corpening later attended First Christian Church of Johnson City, where he was a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his sons: William Darrell Corpening and wife, Karen, Richard Corpening and wife, Debbie, all of Jonesborough; grandchildren: Kim Dooley and husband, Jeramiah, Charlotte, NC, Kelly Mustain and husband, Matt, Valdosta, GA, Lindsay Corpening, Burbank, CA, Brandon Corpening, Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren: Ryan and Gretchen Dooley and William Mustain.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the 2500 staff at the Medical Center and to the entire staff at Appalachian Christian Village.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Corpening will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Dr. Tim Wallingford, Minister, and Mr. Steve Hill, Minster, officiating.
The family will greet friends in the funeral home chapel Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
A Committal and Interment service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park with full Military Honors provided by Boone Dam VFW Post #4933. Active Pallbearers will be Richard Corpening, Darrell Corpening, Jeramiah Dooley, Stephen Garrison, Brandon Corpening, Thomas Garrison, Alex Garrison and John Isaacs. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Cass at First Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends make a donation in memory of Mr. Corpening to the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class of First Christian Church (200 Mountcastle Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601).

She worked at Eastman Kodak, during WWII. After raising her family she worked for several years at Kingsport Times News. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She has been a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church since 1947.
Prededing her in death are her husband of 47 years, Ballard D. Sizemore; parents, Edward and Lillie Kitzmiller, and three sisters, Lucille Keys, Joy McCracken and Erma Hensley.
Surviving are her daughter, Sheila Fleming and husband Larry of Kingsport; two sons, R. Dillon Sizemore and wife Trudy of Germantown, N.C., Rick Sizemore and wife Melissa of Kingsport; eight grandchildren, Travis Fleming and wife Jill of Piney Flats, Brandon Fleming and wife Robin Ann of Franklin, Tenn., Leanne Williams and husband Weston of Advance, N.C., Jeremy Sizemore, Brad Sizemore and wife Tonya, Holly Sizemore all of Rural Hall, NC, Christopher Sizemore and wife Tracey of Powell, Tenn., Sarah Land and husband Seth of Abingdon; eleven great-grandchildren, Alexis, McKay, Sarah Jane, Logan, Maggie, Kera, Kassady, Caleb, Riley, Colt and Cal; sister Laura Kitzmiller of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Niles Kitzmiller of Bristol and Howard Kitzmiller of Jonesborough; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
