JONESBORO - Edward Eugene Kitzmiller, 76, Rt. 3 Jonesboro, died suddenly at his home at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
He was a member of West Hills Baptist Church of Jonesboro and was a native of Washington County. He was the son of the late Jerome and Alice Depew Kitzmiller. He was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillie Jenkins Kitzmiller; five daughters, Mrs. John A. Keys, Jonesboro, Mrs. Ballard D. Sizemore, Kingsport, Mrs. Clarence McCracken, Jonesboro, Mr. Thomas H. Hensley, Erwin, and Miss Juanita Kitzmiller, Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Rev. Niles Kitzmiller, Bristol, Tenn., and Howard L., Kitzmiller, Jonesboro; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

OBITUARY

Homer Kitzmiller
Homer Kitzmiller 73, 503 E. Main St. Jonesborough, died Thursday at North Side Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Washington COunty and the son of the late William C. and Tisha Barry Kitzmiller. Mr. Kitzmiller was a member of the Buffalo Ridge Historical Cemetery Association. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Jonesborough. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irma Bowman Kitzmiller; two daughters, Ellen Hattaway, Asheville, N.C. and Rebecca Wimmer, Ferrum, Va; four sisters, Mrs. Alta Livingston, Mrs. Margie Moury, Miss Pauline Kitzmiller and Mrs. Norma Jean Tucker, all of Johnson City; two brothers, William Kitzmiller, Carter County, and Fred Kitzmiller, Chicago; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday from the Chapel of Dillow Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. henry Webb officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery. Dillow Taylor Funeral Home Jonesborough was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Irma B. Kitzmiller, 87, Jonesborough, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Kitzmiller was a Washington County native and a daughter of the late James B. and Cleo Campbell Bowman.
She was an active member of Central Christian Church, Jonesborough.
Mrs. Kitzmiller was employed by Washington County and retired after 35 years of service in various offices of the Jonesborough and Washington County courthouses.
She was a long-standing officer of the Watauga Association of Genealogists of Upper East Tennessee and a member of the Book Committee for the publication of the History of Washington County, Tennessee, in 1988.
Mrs. Kitzmiller was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Kitzmiller; and one brother, Jack C. Bowman.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Hattaway, Asheville, N.C., and Becky Wimmer, Ferrum, Va.; four grandchildren, Earl Hattaway and Eric Hattaway, both of North Carolina, and Sara Hatman and Clay Bailey, both of Virginia; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Irma Kitzmiller will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home chapel with Senior Minister of Central Christian Church the Rev. John Evert Moury, 97, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Appalachian Christian Village in Johnson City. He was a native of Providence, RI but had lived in Johnson City for many years. He was a son of the late Charles W. and Alma M. Johnson Moury. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harold W, George E. and Charles E. Moury, and two sisters, Doris E. Sjogren and Ethel V. Johnson. Mr. Moury was a member of East Unaka Christian Church where he was an Elder Emeritus and formerly taught the Loyal Mens Class. He was a U. S. Army veteran. During World War II he served in Europe under Gen. Omar Bradley. Later he also served in the Korean Conflict. In the late 50s and early 60s he was stationed in Johnson City and worked at Mountain Home and then with the R.O.T. C. Program at ETSU. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1963, and continued to work in admissions and records at ETSU until his retirement in 1983. Survivors include; one son, Dr. J. David Moury; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and several in-laws from his wife's family.Funeral services will be conducted from the Morris-Baker South Chapel at 8:00 pm Thursday, September 16, 2010. Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate. Burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday. For those who wish the family suggests that memorial donations be made to ones favorite charity.
