HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Mrs. M. Grace Shull, 77, Bridgewater, died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Shull was a Jonesborough, Tenn., native and moved to the Bridgewater area in 1978 from Ecuador. She was a daughter of the late Robert Joseph White and Effie Miller White.
Mrs. Shull was a graduate of East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, and Bethany Theological Seminary, Oak Brook, Ill.
She taught school in Buchannon, Johnson City and Linville-Edom schools and coached girls and boys basketball.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Merlin Shull; one son, Mark Allen Shull Sr., Partlow; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kreitz, Ortanna [Orrtanna], Pa.; one brother, Paul Robert White Sr., Roanoke; two sisters, Ruth Farnsworth, Johnson City, and Elsie Garwood, Clifton Forge; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at Bridgewater Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara G. and John Karpa of Covington, LA; one sister, Anna Ruth White Farnsworth of Johnson City, TN; one brother, Paul R. Mr. Farnsworth was a 1935 graduate of Science Hill High School, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Nolan Farnsworth Furniture and Mattress Co. for 62 years, from 1936—1998.
Mr. Farnsworth was a member of Tacoma Church of God.
He was married to Ruth White Farnsworth for 54 years, from 1949—2003. Additional survivors include his son, Larry W. Farnsworth, Johnson City; nieces and nephews, Dr. Clyde Farnsworth, Jr., Carolyn Graham, David Farnsworth, Rebecca Stepp and Helen Hood.
The funeral service will be conducted 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Rev. Wayne Absher officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The committal service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Hunter officiating. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom DaMitz, Charles Hall, Howard Peterson, Clarence Denny, Jesse Curtis, Lowell Simmons and John Moore, Jr.
For those who prefer, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Tacoma Church of God, 1005 John Exum Pkwy., Johnson City, TN 37604.
