"We are the daisies of the golden heart, and are always willing to do our part." Found on a scrap of paper in Katherine's mementoes upon her death.
At the baptism of Katherine Korman, Bernard Hinrichs was named as her Godfather.
Some of Katherine's children remember that when they were staying with the Kormans, in a house off what is now Hwy J south of Mineola, they heard a newborn baby cry, but when they rose in the morning...there was no baby. Katherine was nearly always pregnant, so they cannot remember specifically if she was pregnant when they were at that house. It used to be a large two story, it burned to the ground, then a small, one room "shack" was built in its place. There was a large chicken house behind the big one, and those that remember the night thought that the lost newborn was buried behind it. Elijah and Katherine were married by Father D. J. O'Brian.
