OBITUARY
Everette Fleming, age 88, of the Fordtown Community passed away Monday afternoon, March 15, 2010 at Brookhaven Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born in Clintwood, Virginia, he had a resident of the area most of his life. He retired in 1987 from Grief Brothers Corp. where he worked in production for 23 years. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the US Army. He was an active member and Sunday School teacher at Fordtown Baptist Church.
Everette is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Goldie Fleming; one brother, Dempsey Fleming.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kitzmiller Fleming of the home; one daughter, Betty and husband Greg Derrick of Surgoinsville; two sons, James and wife Danielle Fleming of Holland, Lee and wife Karen Fleming of Castalian Springs, TN; brothers, Irwin Fleming of Clintwood, VA, Cecil and wife Augusta Fleming of Fall Branch, TN, Roy and wife Bobbie Fleming of Elizabethton, TN, Logan and wife Katherine Fleming of Jupiter, FL, Willie and wife Linda Fleming of Clintwood, VA; sisters, Dorothy Mullins, Vonda Taylor, Zettie and husband Jim Kenner, Linda Sue and husband Lawrence Mullins, all of Clintwood, VA; four grandchildren, Johnny Lance and wife Kim Edwards of Church Hill, TN, Chad Allen and wife Amy Edwards of Kingsport, TN, Danyell and husband Jimmy Shrum of Gallatin, TN, Teresa Booher of Blountville, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins; several great-nieces & great-nephews.
The Family of Mr. Fleming would like to send a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and to the staff and nurses at Brookhaven Nursing Home for their love and tender care.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Fordtown Baptist Church with services being conducted at 7:00 pm with Pastor Brian Moore and Rev. David Guinn officiating. Music will be provided by Vivian Parker. Military graveside services will be conducted at 9:00 am, Friday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265. Pallbearers will be Lance Edwards, Chad Edwards, Dale Kitzmiller, Johnny Maiden, Roger Blevins, Aaron Guinn, Don Walker and Jimmy Shrum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fordtown Baptist Church Building Fund, 444 Old Fordtown Rd., Kingsport, TN 37663.

Augusta Ann Gruber
Services were held Saturday, December 10, for Augusta Ann Gruber, 80, of Mexico, who died Wednesday December 7, 1988. She had lived in Danville before moving to Mexico.
Services were held at Schlanker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Ostrom officiating, the organist was Mrs. E. Boone Schlanker. Pallbearers were Howard Tanzey, Don Robinson, George Krumanocker, Charles Woodrcof, Steve Leach, Willard Brandenburg. Burial was in the New Florence Cemetery.

Mrs. Gruber was born in St. Louis on June 30, 1908, a daughter of Edward and Augusta Proehl Tochtermann. On December 31, 1929, she was married in St. Louis to Bryan Jennings Gruber, who died April 9, 1981.
Surviving are two sons, Bryan J. Gruber, Jr. and E. Randall Gruber, both of Mexico; a daughter, Mrs. George (Janice) Leach of Centralia; and eight grandchildren.

Accident Victim's Funeral Set
LEHI - Funeral services for Clyde Clarence Herrera, 37, who died Monday, Sept. 18, 1978 at Utah Valley Hospital of an auto - train accident, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Lehi Third Ward Chapel.
He was born April 12, 1941 in Dixon, N.M., to Vincent and Rose Pineda Herrera. He married Sandra Leavitt Dec. 4, 1970 in Lehi.
Mr. Herrera was a tool and parts attendant at Tooele Army Depot. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and four daughters, David, Daniel, Sherry and Christin Herrera, all of Lehi; Tina and Lisa Herrera, both of Salt Lake City; three brothers and two sisters, Ike Herrera, California; Fred Herrera, Heber City; Victor Herrera and Mrs. Herman (Judy) Ortiz, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Jim (Rosie) Whitener, American Fork; parents, American Fork and grandmother, Cleotilde Pineda, American Fork.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wing Mortuary in Lehi and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
