"To my granddaughter, who now lives with me, Mary Davault, I give and bequeath my sideboard, desk and half of my kitchen furniture or utensils, one feather and one straw bed, bedstead, and well furnished with suitable bedclothing for the same, also my quilted quilt of the pattern known and called the "Rose of Sharon", also my roan or black Durham heifer two years old in April 1857. If the said heifer should die or otherwise be disposed of by me than the said Mary shall have another heifer or cow and calf of equal value to the present value of said heifer."
In the early 1970s Buford Renolds surveyed the New Bethel Christian Church Cemetery and found Mary's stone. I was not able to find her stone when I visited the cemetery.

Mrs. Troy (Edith) Dunbar, 77, of Route 4, Chuckey, the South Central Community, died at 1 a.m. Sunday in a local hospital.
She was a housewife and a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Kyle (Velma) Bailey of South Central, Mrs Fay (Bonnie) Henley of Limestone, Mrs. Dennis (Betty) Mathes of Clovis, N. Mex., and Mrs. Peter (Phyllis) Miller of Newton, N.C.; one son: James Dunbar of South Central; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters: Mrs. Frank Dunbar and Mrs. Ross Brown of South Central, and Mrs. Lois Keller of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, with interment in Liberty Cemetery. Ross Bailey and the Rev. Homer Ray Smith will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Billy Greenway, Byrd Dunbar, Allen Bailey, Charles Southerland, Howard Bailey, Tommy McCurry.
The body will be take to the church 30 minutes before time for the service to lie in state.
The family will recieve friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Troy Dunbar, 69, of Route 4, Chuckey, South Central Community, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday in Laughlin Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Copp Dunbar; four daughters: Mrs. Kyle (Velma) Bailey of the South Central Community, Mrs. Fay (Bonnie) Henley of Limestone, Mrs. Dennis (Betty) Mathes of Anchorage, Alaska, and Mrs. Peter (Phyllis) Miller of Greeneville; one son, James Dunbar of the South Central Community: one sister, Mrs Rosa Broyles of Johnson City; one brother, Frank Dunbar of the South Central Community; 10 grandchildren and ?? great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with interment in the Liberty Cemetery. The Rev. Henry D. Bailey, the Rev. Arthur Renfro and the Rev. T. F. Lewis will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Crawford Mathes, W. B. Dunbar, Billy Greenway, Charles Southerland, Elden Broyles, Tommy McCurry and Allen Bailey.
The body will be removed to the church to lie in state for one hour before time for the services. The family will receive friends this evening at Doughty-Stevens from 7:00-9:00.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Eual F. Fellers, 82, of Big Pine Key, died early Tuesday morning at Plantation Key Convalescent Home.
He had moved to the Keys from Hollywood, where he had lived nearly 60 years.
Mr. Fellers was born Aug. 26, 1924, in the Philadelphia community of Washington County, Tenn., and was a son of the late Emmy (Broyles) and William Daily Fellers.
On Dec. 22, 1946, he married the former Clyta Mae Dunbar, who was also of Washington County.
Mr. Fellers was the owner/operator of Fellers Gulf Service Station in Hollywood for a more than 40 years, retiring in 1991.
He was a loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, his family noted.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his son and daughter-in-law: James F. and Susan Fellers of Big Pine Key; a grandson and his wife: Paul and Tina Fellers of Tampa; a granddaughter and her husband: Jamie (Fellers) and Rick Clarke of Big Pine Key; a stepgranddaughter and her husband: Michelle and Dan Bertsch of Mint Hill, N.C.; six great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law and their husbands: Margaret and Billy Greenway of Chuckey, Tenn., Linda and Bill Fox of Stuart, Fla., and Connie and Charlie Cobble of Greeneville, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a number of special friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ray Fellers, Charlie Fellers, and Justin Fellers.
The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Sunday at Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Hollywood.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 2 o?clock in the funeral home chapel.
Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Gardens.

MRS. FRANK (LILLIAN DUNBAR
Mrs. Frank (Lillian) Copp Dunbar, 81, of the South Central Community, died at 3:10 p.m. Monday in Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church where she attended faithfully as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dunbar, and a daughter, Irene Dunbar.
Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Billy (Margaret) Greenway and Ms. Connie Southerland, both of the South Central Community, Mrs. William (Linda) Fox of Stuart, Fla., and Mrs. Eual (Clyta) Fellers of Hollywood, Fla.; six grandchildren: Gary Greenway of Greeneville, Mrs. Michael (Diane) Hope, Jonathan and David Southerland, all of the South Central Community, Michael Fox of Stuart, Fla., and James Fellers of Hollywood, Fla.; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Ross (Fornie) Brown of the South Central Community and Ms. Lois Keller of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with interment in Liberty Cemetery. Rev. Homer Ray Smith and Mr. Ross Bailey will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Todd and Allen Bailey, Jimmy Hope, Jerry Scalf, Tom Spear, Herbert Hensley, Jeff Muncy, and Bobby Hensley.
The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes before the service to lie in state.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

James Frank Dunbar, 75, of Route 4, Chuckey, the South Central Community, died at 2 p.m. Thursday in Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Mrs. Lillian Copp Dunbar; four daughters : Mrs. Billy (Margaret) Greenway and Mrs. Charles (Connie) Southerland, both of the South Central Community, Mrs William T. (Linda) Fox and Mrs. Eual (Clyta) Fellers, both of Hollywood, Fla.; six grandchildren: Gary Greenway, Mrs. Michael (Diane) Hope, Jonathan and David Southerland, James Fellers and Mike Fox; five great-grandchildren; one sister: Mrs. Rosa Broyles of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Melinda Seaton Dunbar: and three brothers, the Rev. George D. Dunbar, J. R. and Troy Dunbar.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with interment in Liberty Cemetery. The Rev. T. F. Lewis and the Rev. Henry D. Bailey will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be C. J. Williams, Walter Armstrong, Virgil Tarlton, Fred Bailey, Jimmy Hope and Allen Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. Doctors Beckner, Paterson, Austin, Rodgers and Keebler.
The body will be removed to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening and Saturday evening at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
