Funeral services for Samuel Dosser Bitner, age 52, of Chuckey, who died early Wednesday at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville, were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 from the Methodist Church at Pleasant Hill near Chuckey, with the pastor, the Rev. Fred Coldwell, officiating. Interment was in adjoining cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary White Bitner, two daughters, Mrs. Dessie Bitner Davis, Miss Pauline Bitner, three sons, Horace, Earl and Kenneth D. Bitner, his step-mother, Mrs. Nannie Lamons of Greeneville, three brothers, D. D., Ernest and Walla Bitner, three sisters, Mrs. V. W. Gillin, Mrs. W. G. White and Mrs. Moody Burges of Johnson City, two half-brothers, Eb and Hobson Bitner and two grandchildren, Nellie and Louise Davis.
