FRED T. KITZMILLER JR., 22, whose parents live on Route 2, Jonesboro, was promoted recently to Army specialist four near Augsburg, Germany, where he is assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 70th Armor.
Spec. Kitzmiller entered the Army in May 1966 and was stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky., prior to arriving overseas last January.
Kitzmiller is a 1963 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School, Jonesboro, and was employed by the Tennessee Eastman Company in Kingsport, before entering the Army.

Fred Kitzmiller, Jr.
GRAY - Fred Kitzmiller Jr., 68, of Gray, passed away early Wednesday, (Sept. 18, 2013) at the V.A. Medical Center.
He was a son of the late Fred, Sr. and Sarah Marcum Kitzmiller. Fred was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Kay Kitzmiller of the home; two sons, Martin and David Kitzmiller; one daughter, Terri Kitzmiller Parrish and Preston Ketron, all of Gray; one brother, Earl Kitzmiller of Gray; three grandchildren, Tommy Parrish, Kaitlin Ketron and Dylan Ketron; one aunt, Jeannie and Russell Woods; uncles Bob and Isaac Marcum of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Dr. David Guinn officiating.
Interment will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the Veterans Administration National Cemetery at Mountain Home, Tenn.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

James Elbert “Jimmy” Kitzmiller, 64, of Gray, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning (Nov. 25, 2005) at his home.
He was born on April 4, 1941, in Washington County, TN, to the late James D. “Todd” Kitzmiller and Lucille Kitzmiller.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Brenda G. Kitzmiller; one daughter, Angela Harris, and husband, Darrell Harris, of Gray; one son, Randy Kitzmiller, and wife, Kimberly Kitzmiller, of Gray; four grandchildren, Brandon, Stephanie, Keisha and Donavan; a special mother-in-law, Easter Greer; one sister, Mary Bowman; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and a beloved pet, Fat Black.
He was a graduate of Sulphur Springs School. He was retired from Greif Brothers Corp. and also served the National Guard. He was of Baptist faith.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Gray Funeral Home. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Garry Eades officiating.

Mrs. Ethel Kitzmiller
Mrs. Ethel King Kitzmiller, 76, of Route 3, died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday in Holston Valley Community Hospital after a long illness.
She was born and spent her life in Sullivan County and was a member of the Fordtown Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, J. E. Kitzmiller; daughters, Miss Margaret Kitzmiller and Mrs. William Maden, both of Kingsport; son, Herman Kitzmiller, Gray Station; brother, Samuel King, Fordtown; and five grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel King Kitzmiller will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fordtown Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Willett, officiating.

HERMAN E. KITZMILLER
BRISTOL -- Herman E. "Bud" Kitzmiller, 82, 122 Kitzmiller Road, Gray, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a Fordtown native and had lived in Gray the past 48 years. Mr. Kitzmiller was a son of the late J.E. "Bird" and Ethel King Kitzmiller.
He was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church.
Mr. Kitzmiller retired from Eastman Kodak Co. after 42 years of service. He was also a farmer.
Mr. Kitzmiller was a World War II Army veteran having served in the European Theater in the 295 Ordinance Company.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Cox Kitzmiller; one daughter, Pat Guinn; one son, Dail Kitzmiller; two sisters, Blanche Maden and Margaret Fleming, both of Fordtown community; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kitzmiller donated his body to East Tennessee State University's James H. Quillen College of medicine. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Fordtown Baptist Church, 4440 Fordtown Road, Kingsport, TN 27663, or the National Kidney Foundation, P.O. Box 1135, Blountville, TN 37617.

KINGSPORT — Mrs. Blanche Kitzmiller Maden, 86, Fordtown community, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at her residence after a brief illness. Mrs. Maden was lifelong Fordtown community resident and a daughter of the late J.E. "Byrd" and Ethel Kitzmiller. She was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church. Mrs. Maden was preceded in death by her husband, William Maden; and one brother, Herman “Bud” Kitzmiller. Survivors include one daughter, Donna Walker, Atlanta; two sons, John S. Maden, Kingsport, and Dr. Larry G. Maden, Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Fleming; five grandchildren, Diane Walker Spengler, Megan Maden, Andrew Maden, Shawn English, and Joshua Maden; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Blanch Kitzmiller Maden, age 86, of the Fordtown Community, who went to be with the Lord Monday, July 16, 2001 will be conducted 8:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. David Guinn officiating. Calling hours are from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown or any time at the home of John Maden. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dail Kitzmiller, Aaron Guinn, Ronnie Maden, David Wexler, Joshua Maden, Rob Childress and Ben Carder. Honorary pallbearers will be Everett and Margaret Fleming, Andrew Maden and Vinnie Shoemaker’s Sunday School Class. Margaret K. Fleming

JOHNSON CITY - Margaret King Kitzmiller Fleming, 91, of the Fordtown community, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (Aug. 7, 2013) at Christian Care Center in Johnson City, Tenn.
She was a lifelong resident of Fordtown and a member of Fordtown Baptist Church. Margaret worked at Holston Defense and retired from Grief Brothers as a secetary. She loved her flowers and gardening, Margaret was editor and publisher of the Fordtown Gazette during World War II.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Fleming, who passed away March 15, 2010. Also preceding are her parents, James Edward (Byrd) Kitzmiller and Mary Ethel King Kitzmiller; brother, Herman Kitzmiller and sister, Blanche Maden.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Larry Maden M.D., or Knoxville, Tenn., Donna Walker, of Atlanta, Ga., John Maden and wife Connie, of Kingsport, Pat Kitzmiller Guinn and husband, Dr. David Guinn, of Gray, Dail Kitzmiller and wife Kim, of Gray; Nine great-nieces and nephews; 11 great-great nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Betty Lee Derrick, Lee Fleming, and James Fleming; three stepgranchildren; eight stepgreat-great-grandchildren, and many friends.
For anyone who wishes to attend, greveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Rev. Bryan Moore and Dr. David Guinn officiating.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Fordtown Baptist Church, 444 Old Fordtown Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37663.
