A PRETTY WEDDING IN CALVIN GARDEN
Miss Lolita Baumann of this city and Mr. Louis R. Stone of Bland, Mo., were married Saturday morning, May 6, at a very pretty ceremony in the rock garden at the John Calvin home, with the single ring service read by Rev. A. A. Blome. The wedding scene was beautiful with its colorful background of gay flowers, green shrubbery, shady nooks and artistic landscaping. Pictures taken of the wedding party resemble those originating in Hollywood.
The bride wore a street length dress of powder blue crepe fashioned on simple lines. She carried a colonial bouquet of white rose buds and sweet peas.
Miss Baumann is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Baumann of Calvin Lane and Mr. Stone, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stone, is high school instructor and coach at Hermann.
The couple was attended by Mrs. Jack Wade of St. Louis, the former Miss Margaret Lawrence of this city, and Mr. Elmer Kirchoffer of Hermann, Henry C. Thias played the wedding march as the party left the Baumann residence to meet in the garden.
Following the ceremony an informal reception was given by the bride's mother, with 33 guests present. Those from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stone of Bland, Mrs. H. F. Hansen and Mrs. Dr. R. F. Lichte of Union, Mrs. G. Wood, Mrs. Lena Hasty, Mrs. Jack Wade of St. Louis.
The happy couple will live in Hermann until school is out, when they will leave for Peabody, Mo., where Mr. Stone will attend Peabody Institute to work on his master's degree.
Mr. Stone is well known here through the activities of his high school basketball teams and as a member of the Master Bakers team. Mrs. Stone served as clerk in the office of the Board of Public Works for three years.
