Mr. Kinkeade, farmer and pioneer resident of the Red Bird community, was married to Isadora Ellis in 1875. To this union were born three children: William H. of Jake Prairie, Mo.; Mrs Fanna Hedges of Rolla, Mo., and Herman of Union, Mo.
The grim reaper claimed this wife and mother, which left them with many difficult problems.
He was married to Frances McIntosh (nee Matlock) March 26th, 1893. To this union were born 3 children: Mrs Ona Bridgewater of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Nona Stone of Bland, Mo.; and Louis V. of St. Louis, Mo.
All children with his devoted and widowed companion, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one stepson, Chester McIntosh, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Franzie Licklider, and many other relatives and friends live to mourn his departure. By his upright walk in life and honesty Uncle Volly won the esteem of all who knew him.
He observed the golden rule in all his dealing with men. His word was as good as gold. He will be sadly missed, not only by his family but by all his neighbors and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday March 22, 1931, at the Oak Grove Church conducted by L. J. Rinehart, a life time friend and neighbor of he and his family, in the presence of a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends. The body was interred in the Oak Grove cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all their friends.

Rites Held For Mrs. Kinkeade
Mother of Mrs. Edgar Stone, Bland, Succumbs at Owensville After 6 Weeks Illness
Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Kinkeade, prominent Red Bird resident, were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Oak Grove Church of Christ with Minister Virgil J. Sweany, pastor of the Bland church, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery there.
Mrs. Kinkeade died Sunday, Dec. 16, 1951, at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Licklider at Owensville, after six weeks illness. She was 89 years, 9 months and 26 days old.
Mrs. Kinkeade was born at Red Bird, Feb. 20, 1862, a daughter of Louis Matlock and Permelia Ballard Matlock. She was first married to Franz McIntosh in 1884. He died in September, 1887. Later she married Valentine Kinkeade in 1893. He, too, preceded her in death, his death occuring March 20, 1931.
Since Mr. Kinkeade's death she had made her home with her children.
She had been a member of the Oak Grove Church for over 65 years.
Six children survive: Mrs. Francis Licklider, Owensville; Mrs. Ona Bridgewater, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Nona Stone, Bland; Louis Kinkeade, St. louis; and William Kinkeade, St. James, and Norman (sic) Kinkeade , Red Bird, the latter two being stepchildren. Surviving also are seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother, T. R. Matlock, Hilger, Mont., and a sister, Mrs. Ida Bollmann, Bland.
A son, Chester; four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Gottenstroeter Funeral Service.
