Dorsie Mosher lists two children under James Newton and Sarah Ellen "Ellen" (Mosher) Williams: John W. Williams and Mary Jane Williams. In the 1870 Census, James and Sarah were living with her father and step-mother. In this census, the last two children listed for Daniel and Anna Mosher are John W. Mosher and Mary Jane Mosier. The birthdates for these two Mosher children pretty much match the dates that Dorsie gives for John W. Williams and Mary Jane Williams. (This gets more complicated as John W. Mosher later morphed into Sterling Price Mosher.) In the 1880 Census, James N. and Sarah Ellen (Mosher) Williams are shown with one child: Mary Jane Williams. It is my guess that John W. Mosher (aka Sterling Price Mosher) and John W. Williams are one and the same. Also, that Mary Jane Mosher and Mary Jane Williams are one and the same. I have decided to show John W. Williams (aka Sterling Price Mosher) as a son of Daniel and Anna. I have also decided to show Mary Jane Williams as the daughter of James Newton Williams and Sarah Ellen Mosher. This is due in part to the 1880 Census and in part due to the 1910 Census where Sarah says she has had on child and that child is still living.
