Nora Johnson Fleenor passed away at her home at this place Saturday morning at 11:30 o'clock, after a lingering illness of several years' duration.
Nora was the daughter of Richard and Kate Dewalt Johnson. She was born April 12, 1877, at Mr. Hebron, being 59 years, 10 months and one day of age at her death.
She was loved and respected by a large circle of relatives and friends. To know her was to love her. No one in this community could be missed any more than Mrs. Fleenor.
On December 20, 1899, she was united in marriage to Jesse Fleenor and lived at this place during all her married life. To this union were born five sons, Harry, Lee, Fred, Ray and Hugh.
She is survived by her husband, five sons, three brothers, Joe, Buck and John Fleenor of Little York; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Coombs of New Philadelphia; Mrs. Goldie Halley of Kokomo and many other relatives to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held at the Mt Eden church Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock conducted by Elder S. E. Wells of Orleans after which the remains were laid to rest in the Gater cemetery.

Note: Nora didn't live long enough to see the birth of her first grandchild.

Ray Fleenor's Father Dies Wednesday At Salem
Word has been received here of the death of Jess Fleenor, 84, father of Ray Fleenor, assistant track and field coach of Anderson High School, at the Salem, Ind. Hospital, where he had been a patient for several weeks.
Coach Fleenor's father died Wednesday afternoon and funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem. Survivors beside the son are four other sons, Fred, Harry, Lee and Hugh Fleenor.

Mr. Ray Fleenor, Retired Teacher, Expires Sunday
Mr. Ray E. Fleenor, a resident of Roue 1, Scottsburg passed away at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, December 17 at the Jackson Park Convalescent Center in Seymour.
Mr. Fleenor was the son of Jesse L. and Nora Johnson Fleenor and was a life resident of Washington County. He was a member of the York Masonic Lodge #512, the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, of the Indiana Schoolman Club, the State Teachers Association and the National Education Association. He was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College and Indiana University. He was a retired teacher and coach of Anderson Community Schools at Anderson, Indiana.
Survivors are two brothers, Lee Fleenor and Hugh Fleenor, both of Route 1, Scottsburg; a nephew and two neices.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mount Eden Christian Church with Rev. Philip Farnsley and rev. Joseph Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow in the Gater Cemetery under the direction of the Dawalt Funeral Home.
Masonic services were conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by the York Masonic Lodge #512.

Fleenor's Brother Dies In Little York
Ray Fleenor, Anderson High School assistant coach in track and cross country, has been called to Little York, Ind., due to the death of his 61-year-old brother, Harry Fleenor, of that community. Survivors include brothers, Ray Fleenor, Anderson; Fred Fleenor, Greeley, Colo.; Lee and Hugh Fleenor, Scottsburg.
The deceased was a member of the Little York, No. 512, Free and Accepted Masons. The body was removed to the Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem, Ind., where friends are being received. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Eden Christian Church and burial will be in the family plot in the Gator Cemetery in Little York. The Revs. Nelson Buffenberger and Ben Corey will be in charge. Masonic services will be held following the chruch service.
Harry and Ray were bachelors and both had resided on the Fleenor farm for many years.

Hugh Fleenor, 85, of Little York died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg.
Mr. Fleenor had been a lineman and truck driver for Public Service Indiana and was retired. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Little York Christian Church and Little York Masonic Lodge.
Born June 6, 1915, in Washington County, he was the son of Jesse Fleenor and Nora Johnson Fleenor. He married Faye I Craig, who survives in Little York.
Other survivors include a son, Dale Fleenor, Little York; two daughters, Judy Allen, Little York and Jeannie Tscheulin, Scottsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Brother Greg Schuler and Brother George Trueblood will conduct services at 1 p.m. Sunday at Stewart Funeral Home in Scottsburg.
Burial will take place at Scottsburg Cemetery. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hugh Fleenor, 85, Little York, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg.
