Mrs. Eva M. Brower, member of the Insurance Women's Assn. of Portland, is the new treasurer of the National Assn. of Insurance Women. She was elected at the association's annual convention held in late June in Detroit.
Mrs. Brower is a charter member of the Portland group and was one of 40 women from 19 clubs who organized the national association in 1940 at a meeting in Denver, Colo. Currently the association counts some 300 clubs and about 13,000 members in every state in the country, in Hawaii and British Columbia.
Mrs. Brower has been on many association committees, both local and national. She has been national chairman of welfare and of the rules committee. In 1952 she was regional director for the seven western states and regional chairman of advertising for the national publication, "Today's Insurance Women."
The Portland leader is owner of her own insurance agency with headquarters in the Lewis Bldg. and has been in the insurance busines all of her business life.

Funeral Will be Held Saturday for Frank E. Parrish
Lebanon, Jan 15 -- (Special) -- Frank Elbert Parrish, 57, died at Lebanon hospital just before noon Wednesday following a brief illness. Mr. Parrish was born August 22, 1874, on a farm near Lebanon and resided in and around Lebanon all his life. He was a son of Mrs. S. N. Parrish now living in Portland. His father Alexander Parrish, died eight years ago.
For many years prior to his death Mr. Parrish operated a grain and feed barn on Sherman street near the Southern Pacific station.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Parrish and the following children: Mrs. Curtis Churchill and Mrs. Roy Edholm of Albany; Margaret Parrish, Wilbur, Mason, James, Kenneth, Lyle, Frederick and Stanley, all living at the home and Edward and Clifford of Portland. Three sisters, Mrs. Ed Ritter and Miss Leon Parrish of Portland and Mrs. Delta Vunk of Albany; two brothers, Charles and Cleo Parrish of Prineville; Mother, Mrs. S. N. Parrish of Portland; three grandchildren, Maxine and Nadine Parrish of Portland and Leonard Churchill of Albany are also living.
Funeral services will be held at the N. C. Lowe Mortuary chapel beginning at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with Rev. R. Burris officiating and burial will be in the Masonic cemetery north of Lebanon.

Frank Parrish Died Wednesday after Brief Illness
Francis Albert Parrish, son of Alexander Parrish, was born at Lebanon August 21, 1874, and following a short illness, died at the Lebanon hospital at 11:30 Wednesday forenoon, January 13, 1932.
He married Miss Myrtle Keebler. To this union were born 14 children, two of whom, a son and daughter, have preceded him in death. In October 1927 the son, Robert Ellis, was killed in an accident when a truck ran over him. This was the first, or one of the first fatal motor vehicle accidents in Lebanon.
He spent practically all his life in Lebanon. For many years prior to his death he operated a grain and feed store and livery barn on Sherman street near the Southern Pacific station.
Survivors are his widow. Mrs. Myrtle Parrish, and the following children: Edwin of Portland; Wilbur, Mason, James, Kenneth and Lyle all of Lebanon; Mrs. C. L. Churchill and Mrs Roy Edholm of Albany, and Margaret Parrish of Lebanon.
Funeral services will be held at the N. C. Lowe mortuary chapel, beginning at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternooon, and burial will be in the Lebanon cemetery north of town.

Wilbur H. Parrish, 94, a lifelong resident of Lebanon, died Saturday at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.
Wilbur was born in Lebanon the son of Frank and Myrtle (Keebler) Parrish. He attended his schooling in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1932. He attended two years of college at Albany College. He worked throughout his career in sawmills in the Lebanon area, retiring in 1975.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching Oregon State Beaver football games. When he retired, he became an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers. He was a past member of the Lebanon First Christian Church and a charter member of the Lebanon Elks Lodge No. 1663.
He was married to Georgia Anderson in Corvallis on May 16, 1938.
He is survived by wife Georgia of Lebanon; daughter Nancy Stang of Portland; sons Lanny Parrish of North Bend and Larry Parrish of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service will be Tuesday at the Huston-Jost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.

OBITUARY - Democrat Herald, October 21, 1996

Margaret L. Swanson, 88, of Portland, formerly of Lebanon and Albany, died Thursday (October 17, 1996) at home. She was born and grew up in Lebanon, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Keebler) Parrish. She married Robert A. Swanson in 1931 and they lived in Albany. Mr. Swanson died in 1948 and Mrs. Swanson moved to Salem in 1955 and to Portland in 1966.
She worked many years as a nurse in nursing homes and private residences. A member of the Free Methodist Church, she enjoyed reading the Bible and reading to her grandchildren. Surviving are sons David of Salem and Daughter Linda of Dateland, AZ; brothers Wilbur Parrish of Lebanon and Stanley Parrish of Redding California; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A grave side service will be (October 23, 1996) at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery with Pastor Ron Keeling officiating. Huston Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
