Batilda had a sister named Amanda but the age is off by ten years. Also, I do not find a sister named Francis. In the 1900 Census, Batilda says she had no children.

Local actor, educator dies at 60
By Wayne Bledsoe, Doug Mason
Knoxville actor and educator Dan Owenby died Tuesday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center of complications from kidney disease.
Mr. Owenby, 60, was well-known as an actor on Knoxville theater stages with a career that spanned 40 years and 106 roles. Owenby's credits included the lead roles of Benjamin Franklin in a University of Tennessee production of "1776" and Falstaff in the East Tennessee Shakespeare in the Park production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor."
His had roles in many University of Tennessee productions including "1776," "The King and I," "The Teahouse of the August Moon," "All the Way Home," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Into the Woods," "The Dresser," "Arsenic and Old Lace" and "Big River." He also appeared in numerous community theater productions, including "Hello, Dolly!" and "Annie" at the Oak Ridge Playhouse, and appeared in the 1988 Disney Channel film "Goodbye Miss 4th of July." His last appearance was in the Theatre Knoxville production of "The Sisters Rosensweig" in 2006.
Mr. Owenby relished the title of "Knoxville's Happiest Actor," bestowed on him years ago in a News Sentinel arts column. His wife, of 37 years, Lanell Owenby, had a T-shirt made for him proclaiming "I'm Knoxville's Happiest Actor," and for herself, a matching "I'm the Wife of Knoxville's Happiest Actor" T-shirt. She wore the shirt to cheer up during his final hospital stay.
Colleagues remember Owenby as having an infectious joy for performing.
"I always enjoyed seeing him on stage because he always looked like he was having the time of his life any time he was on stage," said Tennessee Stage Company Executive Director Tom Parkhill, who directed Owenby as Sir John Falstaff in the 2001 Shakespeare in the Park production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor."
Illness kept Owenby off the stage for the past two years. His last UT appearance was in 2006, when he portrayed the Mark Twain-esque narrator in the musical "Big River." The UT theater department offered him several roles since, including Fezziwig in "A Christmas Carol" during the 2007 holiday season,
"He was one of our audience's favorite performers," said Tom Cervone, Managing/Program Director for the Clarence Brown Theatre and the UT theater department. "People would call and say 'When are we going to see Dan on stage again?' "
Mr. Owenby "enjoyed every minute of the process" of creating a play, Cervone said. "He would always say to me it doesn't matter what size the role is, just give me a call."
"Whether it was five lines or 50 pages of dialogue, he came with the same energy, dedication, focus, consistency and enthusiasm."
Owenby also taught English, and sometimes drama, at Halls, Carter and Powell High Schools. He retired from Powell a few years ago for medical reasons. Owenby underwent a kidney transplant in 1993. That kidney eventually failed and Owenby received another kidney earlier this year, but the transplant was unsuccessful. Owenby spent the last five months in the hospital.
Owenby leaves his wife of 37 years, Lanell Owenby, mother Pat Owenby, brother Fred Owenby, sister Anita Owenby, sister-in-law Bobbie Owenby, brother-in-law Bruce Thomas, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Sunsphere.
