He was born on February 27, 1950, in Bristol, the son of the late Keyes Boardwine Kitzmiller and the late Grace Phillips Kitzmiller. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Calvin Kitzmiller, Naomi Widener Kitzmiller, Sarah Wyatt Kitzmiller and James Butler Phillips. In addition to his grandparents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Blaine Kitzmiller.
Surviving are a wife, Deborah Hair Shelton-Kitzmiller, of the home; Daughter , Melissa (Bobby) Kitzmiller of Bassett; Son, Robert A. (Julie) Kitzmiller of Martinsville; Daughter, Lori K (Josh) Herndon of Chatham; Son, Blake (Katie) Kitzmiller of Ringgold; Step-Daughter, Ashley (Seth) Morgan; Step-Son, George (Amanda) Shelton; Brothers, Rickey (Stephanie) Kitzmiller, David Kitzmiller, and Randy Kitzmiller of Bassett, six grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home Friday, July 8, 2016, 11 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Barbour officiating. The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home Thursday July 7, 2016, from 7 until 8 p.m. and at other times will be at the residence, 103 N. Main St. Chatham, Va.
