THOMAS, Jayne 80, of Lutz, passed away June 11, 2012. She was an avid bridge player, who achieved the rank of Grand Life Master. She loved cooking, gambling, and she had a heart of gold. She was a generous, loving person especially towards her partner Sue and her many best friends. Jayne taught mathematics in the Hillsborough County Public Schools for 30 years. She served as the executive manager of Florida Unit 128 of ACBL for over 25 years and she chaired four NABCs. As a teacher Jayne advised numerous clubs, including the National Honors Society. Within the bridge community she served on many committees including the ACBL Charity and Education Foundations. Jayne served several terms as District Director to ACBL board of directors from District 9. Jayne was a fierce competitor at the bridge table, topping her section less than a week before she passed away. She is survived by her life partner of 39 years, Sue Franson; "son", Glenn White; niece, Suzette Victoria; great-niece and nephew, Katherine and Scott. Sue and Jayne kept a menagerie of pets. Artemis and Dakota, her dogs, miss Jayne very much. Jayne was loved and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ACBL Charity Foundation or amfAR. He was a Teller - bank (1940.)2 His B-24 was on mission to Rennes, France when it was hit and badly damaged by enemy flak and fighters. The plane crashed near Charles de Bretange, France. Of the crew of ten, three men were killed in the crash, two were shot and killed as they parachuted, one was taken prisoner and four evaded capture, making their way back to friendly lines.

Lieut. Willard A. Hill, Jr., 26, son of Willard A. Hill, 2154 Maplewood Ave., has been missing in action since June 12, his family has been informed. Lieutenant Hill, whose wife and two children live in 136 Rosalind Pl., is the pilot of a B-24 bomber.
Lead plane in a group of three taking part in raids over occupied France, Lieutenant Hill's plane went down after its engines were shot out by enemy fire, his squadron Commander wrote Mrs. Hill recently.
