Former York Police Chief Davis Dead
Services are pending for Harry M. Davis, 67, 3150 Orchard who died Saturday in Lincoln.
Mr. Davis, who retired in 1969 as Police Chief of York, served with the Lincoln Police Dept. for 23 years as a patrolman and a detective.
Mr. Davis left Lincoln in 1962 to take the York position.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Laverne; one daughter, Mrs. Gianna White, Grandview, Mo.; two sons, Harry M. Jr., Lincoln and Randy K., San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren: brothers, Alvin, J. H., both of Lincoln; Leland. Seattle. Wash.; sisters, Mrs. Lena Clark, Beatrice, and Mrs. Annabel Epp of Lincoln.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Ropers Chapel in Lincoln for Harry M. Davis, 67, of Lincoln who died last Saturday in a Lincoln hospital.
Harry Davis lived in Beatrice as a boy, then moved to Lincoln where he was a member of the Police Force for about 27 years, serving as a detective part of that time. In 1962 he became Chief of Police at York and upon his retirement there in 1969 moved back to Lincoln. Pallbearers at the funeral were the members of the Lincoln Police Force.
Surviving him are his wife, Laverne; two sons, Randy K. of San Diego, Calif., and Harry Jr. who is serving in the Navy; one step-daughter, Mrs. Joe (Gianna) White of Grand View, Mo.; three brothers, Allen and J. H., both of Lincoln and Leland of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs Gus (Annabelle) Epp of Lincoln and Mrs. Lena Clark of Beatrece; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, five brothers and two sisters.
Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
