OBITUARY - Find-A-Grave

Mr. James A. "Ab" Sisk, age 78, of Nebo, N.C. died Thursday, December 2, 2004 at The McDowell Hospital.
A native of McDowell County, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Pearl Sigmon Sisk.
He was retired from Romarco Marble, Inc. in Morganton and was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during WWII.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Dolcie Sheehan Sisk of the home; three children, Gary Sisk of Morganton and Elaine Sisk of Nebo and Robert Jeffery Sisk of Nebo; two granddaughters, Nikki Hoxit and Jennifer Sisk, both of Nebo; one great-grandson, Brycen Tate of Nebo; one brother, Ralph Sisk of Nebo; and one sister, Hazel Watkins of Raleigh.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Ralph Gouge officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 12:00 noon at which time military honors will be provided by a detachment from Fort Bragg.

Mr. Leith W. Cloer, 87, of Morganton, N.C., left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father, on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at the Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley, after a period of declining health.
Leith was born June 27, 1921, in Burke County, to the late John Alexander Cloer and Ella Perry Cloer.
He was a member of Bridgewater Presbyterian Church and he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II before settling in the Bridgewater Community where he went to work in the furniture industry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Hildebrand Cloer.
Survivors include his two sons, Ron Cloer and his wife, Debra, of Oak Hill and Mike Cloer and his wife, Joyce, of the home in Bridgewater; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He will be especially missed by his little buddy, grandson Alex of the home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bridgewater Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Craven officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Bridgewater Presbyterian Church.
