Victor Klobucher
Dr. Victor W. Klobucher, Jr, 69, retired physician and resident of Moses Lake, passed away following an extended illness on Monday, Sept. 26, 1988 at Deaconess Medical Center.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 1, 1988 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Arthur Waters, celebrant. Private family interment will be at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Memories.
Dr. Klobucher was born Jan. 18, 1919 in Opportunity, Wash. son of the late Victor and Gretchen Klobucher. He was raised and educated in Spokane graduating from Central Valley High School in 1936. He then attended WSU graduating in 1941 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering. His studies continued at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif. and in 1942 he received a graduate certificate in meteorology. He then worked for the Weather Bureau in Washington D.C. In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving during WWII as a weather pilot. He was married to Ann F. Schlaefer Feb. 6, 1945 in West Hollywood, Calif. In 1947 they moved to Portland, Ore. where he began his studies at the University of Oregon Medical School. In 1951 he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He then served his internship at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane.
In 1952 they moved to Moses Lake where he and the late Dr. Jerry Fairbanks opened the Doctor's Clinic. He continued the general practice of medicine until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed golf and was a charter member and past president of the Moses Lake Golf and Country Club. He was also a past member of the Moses Lake Lions Club and the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Klobucher of Moses Lake, two daughters, Karen Klass-Klobucher, Seattle and Peggy Cruz, Moses Lake, two sons, Richard Klobucher, Seattle and Kim Klobucher, Bainbridge Island, Wash., eight grandchildren, one sister, Marion Klobucher, Ellensburg, Wash.
Memorials may be made to Samaritan Hospital, 801 E. Wheeler Rd., Moses Lake, WA 98837.
