Major J. Bradley
HOT SPRINGS -- Major J. Bradley, 90, of Hot Springs, died of natural causes Saturday, Oct. 8, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.
Born June 7, 1898, in Bridger to James and Harriet Bradley, he was raised in Lovell, Wyo.
We worked for the railroad and lived in the Idaho panhandle, Bridger and Stevensville before settling in Hot Springs in the late 1970s.
An accomplished fiddle player, he played at barn dances during his early years.
Survivors include five daughters: June Nutting, Big Timber; Jean Ditmar, Rosemead, Calif; Laura Sheets, San Diego; Clara Stutts, Hot Springs; and Mary Rex, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation was under the direction of Livingston-Malletta & Geraghty Funeral home in Missoula.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Riverview Cemetery in Stevensville.
A memoral service will be held in Hot Springs at a later date.

Harriet Lorraine Nutting, 76, of Townsend passed away Friday, April 22, 2005, at the Broadwater Health Center from cancer. Lorraine was born June 16, 1928, in Spokane, Wash., to George and Elsie (Mark) Niel. Lorraine moved from Sandpoint, Idaho, as a teenager to Montana. She worked as a waitress for many years. Lorraine married James Emerson Nutting on Dec. 26, 1945, at Columbus. He preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by three daughters, Dolly Hazel of Toston, Mary Anne Lewis of Roundup, Mae Garcia of Harrisonville, Mo., and her son, Dale Emerson of El Cajon, Calif. Her sister Laura Sheets of Pleasant Valley, Ariz, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also survive her. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, at Connors Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Dexter officiating.
