A native of Chattanooga, TN, she was a daughter of the late Margaret Hord and Frank Robert Dent Sr.
Mrs. Doak was a homemaker.
Mrs. Doak was a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1947, where she was a member of the Ann King Bible Class. She was also a member of The Monday Club and the D.A.R.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Kitzmiller Doak.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Henderson and husband, Tracy, Asheville, NC, Jane Mainzer and husband, Peter, Powell, OH; brother, Frank Robert Dent and wife, Frances, Burlington, NC; grandchildren, Mark Price, Carrboro, NC, Kelly Stone, Durham, NC, Mary Myers-Carey and husband, William, and Wes Myers, all of Powell, OH; great-grandson, Sam Stone, Durham, NC; and four nieces and one nephew.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
The funeral service for Mrs. Doak will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009, in the Wood Chapel of First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
