Mrs. Virginia Glass
Mrs. Virginia Glass, 83, 205 Flourville Road, Gray, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Glass was a Washington County native and a daughter of the late Walter H. and Leatha Crouch Matherly.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Glass was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member of the Ladies Adult Sunshine Class.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Elmer Glass; five sons, Charles, William Michael and Kenneth Glass, all of Gray, Gary Glass, Mt. Juliet, and Robert "Bobby" Glass, Elizabethton; three daughters, Carolyn Hodges, Ruth Ann Willis and Betty Widener, all of Gray; two sisters, Gladys M. Wexler and Emily M. Sluss, both of Gray; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Mrs. Virginia Glass
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Glass will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jul 3, 2002, at Boones Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Bud Pate officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Pastor Dale Cunningham. Interment will follow in the Boones Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers, who are asked to meet at the church by 1:45 p.m. will be Benny Hale, Tony Glass, Jimmy Dalton, David Wexler, Clyde Tipton, Larry Crouch, Jason Hall, and Robbie McGuire. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Crouch, Charlie Hawkins, Roy Roora, James Dotson, Cecil Tester, Clyde Dalton, George Lowe, Fred Crouch and Cecil Rutledge. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home.
